Updated Hair Favorites

Up until we moved to Orlando, I had never really died my hair or did anything to it. So when we moved to Orlando and Khristina reached out to me and was like let me do your hair, I was like…SURE, let’s do it! I had been thinking about going lighter and it was like she read my mind and knew that I wanted my hair done. I knew I wanted to go super blonde and have silvery and purple pieces in it! But sometimes I also just do blonde. If you are in the area, I go to Khristina at Educe Salon and she is AMAZING. I just wanted to go over all of the items that I use and when I use them and how often and all of that sort of thing!

HAIR PRODUCTS

  1. Odele Volumizing Shampoo - I got this shampoo so I could use something on opposite washes of the Olaplex and I really like it! I says to wash with it twice but if you lather it in your hands really well and then work it into your hair adding a little water it will lather and suds up just fine! I really like the way that my hair feels after the shower when I use this shampoo and its conditioner as well!

  2. Olaplex Bond Treatment Shampoo - I had heard great things about Olaplex, like a few years of people hyping it up before I pulled the trigger. I really like the way that my hair feels and defiantly know that there is less breakage. I was so worried about this when I started coloring my hair but this has helped so much!

  3. Odele Conditioner - Shortly after I got the Odele shampoo I wanted to also switch up my conditioner so that I wasn’t using a purple conditioner every time I was washing my hair because I was finding it to be really drying. So I just went with the same brand and I have been equally impressed with the conditioner as I was with the shampoo!

  4. Shu Uemera Blonde Anti-Brass Mask - This is a purple conditioner that I leave in for as long as possible. I have been using this for just under a year and it is incredible! Opposite to the Living Proof, I use this conditioner and I leave it in my hair for 12-15 minutes {basically as long as I can while I am still in the shower}.

  5. Bumble & Bumble Blow Dry Accelerator Spray - I’ve used this blow dry accelerator for about 4 years now and I have repurchased it like 3 times! I love it so much, it takes about 4-5 sprays and it makes my hair dry so much faster. It is also great because it acts as a heat protectant from the blow dryer and whatever other hot tools I use on my hair that day!

  6. Ouai Leave in Conditioner - I sort of said this above but when I use my purple conditioner to keep my blonde it can be a little bit drying so I spray this in on my wet hair before I brush out my hair it is so great. I just got the little size to try but when I run out I will be getting the bigger size.

  7. Kerastase Resistance Serum - I have had this same bottle for over a year now and it still feels full! I got this either the first or second time I went to see Kristina at Educe and I can’t believe I haven’t had to buy another one. It literally makes your hair feel like you just got a fresh haircut! It heals hair ends, acts as a heat protectant and nourishes damaged hair. It honestly just makes your hair feel so good, I feel like I share this product with everyone that comes into my bathroom, plus everyone over on my Instagram stories!

  8. SGX NYC Dry Touch Volumizing Dry Shampoo - This is seriously my tried and true dry shampoo! When I have this in my hair it feels fresh and clean again without the feeling of having product in my hair! I can’t believe how impressed I am with this dry shampoo. Its smells so good and there is no residue when its sprayed!

  9. Moroccan Oil Moisture Mask - I use this hydrating hair mask and I leave it in for 2-3 hours and then wash it out in the shower and use shampoo and conditioner after it is rinsed out! It works really well and doesn’t leave my hair feeling really heavy the next morning which is huge for me and one of the things I look for most in a hair mask! I think I will use this 2-3 times a month just for some hydration in my hair, especially going into the pool months and being outside a lot and in the sun.

I feel like that might have been a lot of information but I wanted to have it all in one spot! I finally have like “my favorites” and I just want to share them with everyone. I will also share my Dry Shampoo Review that I did and my Updated Skincare Routine while we are on the topic of all things beauty related! I am slowly writing updated blog posts for all of these topics. If you have any questions at all feel free to comment below and I will respond in a comment. You can always email me at tarynintotravel@gmail.com and I will get back to you!

Mother's Day Gift Guide | 2022

A Weekend in St. Augustine

It has sort of become a tradition in our house that we go away for our birthdays and celebrate them pretty big. We usually like to fly somewhere but since we have moved to Florida we have so many places that are drivable on our bucket lists and so we decided {well Dustin did} for his birthday that we should check one of those off for his birthday. We had heard so many good things from friends about St. Augustine so we choose to head there for the weekend! We spent two nights and the majority of three days there and it was great! We packed up the car and drove the short two and a half hours up to St. Augustine and started the birthday weekend!

WHERE WE STAYED

This was my first time ever staying in an AirBnb and I really had no idea what to expect. But after deciding that we wanted to split our time between the beach and downtown St. Augustine for this trip we decided right in the middle would be perfect to have the best of both worlds. I found this airbnb and was skeptical of it being a part of someones house but was PLEASANTLY surprised and would 10000% stay here again! Katrina had the cutest welcome sign and note, tons of information on restaurants and things to do in the area, the coffee bar was stocked, there was a mini fridge and microwave. There were tons of little added things that she did to make our stay perfect and not really need to worry about a thing while we were there! We had our own parking space and entry way in to the room on the back of the house and we felt comfortable and safe the entire time which is really all I could ask for! It seemed like their house or at least the suite we were staying in had just been renovated, it was so nice inside! They also had the cutest dog named chance that came out and said hi to us while we were on the patio one morning when we were headed out for breakfast!

WHAT WE ATE

I learned my lesson from St. Pete and took a lot more photos of food while we were in St. Augustine and I am so glad I did because we had a lot of good food and I want to share it with you. Not all of these are not going to be full reviews because I will do a gluten free review in the near future but as I write each of them I will add the links to this blog post so you have an easy way to get to it!

BREAKFAST

Kookaburra Coffee - I literally think that the Honey Badger coffee that I got from here was the best coffee I have ever had and I feel like I have tried a lot of coffee in my day! I got it iced and Dustin got it hot and we both loved them! I also tried the pumpkin donut and that was pretty good as well. You can read the full review here!

www.tarynintotravel.com | St. Augustine Travel Guide | Gluten Free Food in St. Augustine | Travel Diary | Florida Travel Guide | Things to do

Beachside Diner - We went here on our last day in St. Augustine for breakfast and it was so yummy. I think they had the best hash browns I have ever had. It was a very simple breakfast of hash browns, eggs, gluten free toast and bacon! It was great! Dustins breakfast was 20x more exciting than me, he had the spicy chicken and waffles and he said they were delicious. He brought the leftover chicken and ate it as leftovers and loved it for the second time. He said it was spicy, great, and he would get it again and again!

LUNCH

The Conch House Restaurant - We went here the first afternoon that we were there and besides the view that was really all that was good in the gluten free category. I had the nachos that were on the appetizer menu and they were literally disgusting. The taco meat wasn’t like taco.. it was like ketchup was mixed into it with the grossest cheese. I also got a cup of the seafood chowder and it tasted like that weird vegetable soup we used to get as kids with bits of fish in it. I wouldn’t recommend this place beyond maybe getting a drink, sitting in one of the outdoor tables and looking at the view!

www.tarynintotravel.com | St. Augustine Travel Guide | Gluten Free Food in St. Augustine | Travel Diary | Florida Travel Guide | Things to do

Green Papaya Thai & Sushi Cuisine - This is where we ate the second day for lunch and it was SO good! I started with the spicy California roll and Dustin got some “sushi” but other places I have been they call it nigiri. He liked them all! Then we realized that they had otoro as a special and we each got a piece of that. If you haven’t tried it is a melt in your mouth piece of fish that we look for everywhere we go! It is the “most desirable part of the tunas belly”. YUM! Then as our main entree we both got chicken pad Thai and it was a 10/10. I got a spice level 2 and I think I could have done a 3! I will be writing a full review on Green Papaya and you will be able to read that review here!

DINNER

The Floridian - We absolutely loved this place! We both actually had the Fried Chicken Sandwich which we really try not to do when we go out to eat, but oh well, we did this time. We also got the Biscuits and Belly as our appetizer to share and it was seriously 100%! I would go back just for the gluten free biscuits! You can read my full Gluten Free Review of The Floridian here!

Casa Maya - We stopped into Casa Maya for a drink and some appetizers. Dustin is a huge ceviche fan and they had shrimp or octopus civiche that he wanted to try. We both also got drinks, I got the Smokey Granada which was Ojo De Tigre, Grand Marnier, rosemary simple, pomegranate and lime. Dustin got the 400 Rabbits which was Montelobos, lime, Oregat, Boomerang and grilled pineapple. To eat I got the chips and guacamole and both dishes were pretty good. I believe that they brought us these chips because they were safe for me to eat with my gluten allergy. Plus they had live music and that was fun!

Burrito Works Taco Shop - We went here late on the second night as we were realizing that everything was closed after listening to the live band. Dustin got a huge burrito and I got some chicken nachos which were really good. We also got chips and queso to share. I honestly was nervous about if I was going to get glutened or not but it actually was fine and the nachos were probably the safest thing for me to get because it was on tin foil the whole time and never touched anything it shouldn’t have. We got ours to go and took it back to the airbnb and sat in bed, watched Jurassic Park and devoured our meals! It was a great way to end the trip!

DRINKS

Odd Birds Cocktail Lounge - When we first were moving to Florida I started like a little bucket list of things that I wanted to do while we lived here.. big or small, I just wrote it down! Well I must have seen a TikTok or something about this cute bar and wrote it on my Florida Bucket list and forgot about it. When we were sitting at the bar ordering a drink it dawned on my that THIS place was on my Bucket List and I didn’t even realize it! But there we were ordering YUMMY and fun drinks from this bar and I was able to cross it off my list!

There was an option on the menu to ask the bartender to just come up with something for you to drink so that’s what we both did. I told him I couldn’t have whiskey and he went with it! He made me something called a Dead Spicy Lady which was like smoky mezcal, Aperol, falernum and Scrappy’s Hellfire bitters is what made it spicy. I am not even a huge tequila person but it was SO good! The bartender made Dustin called a Paper Plane and it had like bourbon, aperol and Amaro Nonino Quintessentia and I believe he put the hellfire bitters in it as well to make his spicy! This bar was a lot of fun and the food looked good as well but we just stopped for a drink!

Slugs Pub - We stopped in here on the way downtown the second night to grab a drink because we noticed that they had a pool table but there were about 10 people in the whole place and 6 of them had just started playing pool. We each grabbed a cider but didn’t stay long. We decided to finish our drinks and keep walking! I also feel like I should show you the weird phone, TV, cartoon picture collage situation that was in this bathroom!

www.tarynintotravel.com | St. Augustine Travel Guide | Gluten Free Food in St. Augustine | Travel Diary | Florida Travel Guide | Things to do

Prohibition Kitchen - This is where we ended out night on the second night out! But there was a live band, a good vibe and a lot of fun! We had some French fries from here and they were so good. I will link their menu for those of you who are interested! I was either starving or they had the best ranch that I have ever tasted in my life! I couldn’t even believe how good it was. We didn’t get anything crazy to drink here. Dustin stuck to his normal whiskey ginger situation and I had a cider just because I was worried about mixing the few tequila drinks that I had from earlier with more things. Might just be me though! Haha. But we liked the band and stayed there until about 1:30 before heading to find a snack! I will also link to their drink menu because it looked like there were some fun ones to try that we might have missed out on!

WHAT WE DID

www.tarynintotravel.com | St. Augustine Travel Guide | Gluten Free Food in St. Augustine | Travel Diary | Florida Travel Guide | Things to do

*us trying to get a picture on a timer with my phone leaning against a potted plant on the ground after a few Cutwater Grapefruit Vodka Sodas while we were mini-golfing haha

Like most of our trips we mostly just jumped from place to place finding delicious food and drinks! This trip started off being REALLLL rough. On our drive there we were in a tornado warning that was literally heading right towards us and we were in the pouring rain. Once we finally made it out of that and to the beach to walk about before the next patch of rain, we rolled down our window to pay for parking and our window would not roll back up. It was stuck and we didn’t want our car to get rain damage so we headed to the Toyota dealership. After sitting there for the majority of our day we finally were given a rental car and told to come back tomorrow to get our car from them. So our first day wasn’t really spent doing anything besides taking a much deserved nap and eating and doing a little walking around in the downtown area. We didn’t take advantage of the history tours like I thought we did but we were really all that sad about missing them. It was nice to have no agenda and just go where we pleased.

But the second day we did go mini golfing near our airbnb and that was a lot of fun. We went to Anastasia Mini Golf and it was a lot of fun. Not too crowded, they had drinks available to buy and it was a fun course. We had a blast and we don’t usually mini golf so it was fun to do something different. Besides that we did do some wandering around downtown St. Augustine. We popped in and out of shops, saw tons of dolphins watching from the bridge and we really liked the live music at the Prohibition bar which I wrote about above!

RECOMMENDATIONS

Before our trip started we got a few recommendations that we didn’t get a chance to try but I wanted to list them here for you guys! Someone said that we should try a restaurant called Columbia and another person recommended the A1A Ale Works Restaurant & Taproom as well! For some shopping we got a recommendation to check out Two Sparrows boutique! We didn’t get to do these but maybe next time!

March Favorite Five

March Favorite Five

| The Good Patch by La Mend Rescue Patch |

I originally got these when I was stocking my guest bathroom for guests, you can read more about that here and here! But in the last couple of weeks with people being here and us having drinks by the pool or drinking around the world at Epcot I have actually used them three times and all three times they have helped me! It says that you can use it before or after a night out, I have never planned that far in advance so I use them the day after! The patch has vitamin B1 which gets used up when you are drinking and it also has green tea that has antioxidants. Basically it replenishes the stuff you need in your body to feel good! I am not saying that its a 100% cure for a hangover but it does help!

| High-Rise A-Line Pleated Shorts - Universal Thread |

I was so skeptical of these when I put them in my cart to go try them on at Target but when I put them on in the dressing room I was IN LOVE. I thought that they were going to look huge and baggy on my but I don’t think that they do at all. I think the pleats give it such a classic look. You can pair them with just a plain white tank top or a more fun flowy top if you are going for a dressier look for dinner or something! I paired them with these sandals and one of my Gaze tank tops from TJMaxx!

| Medium Support V-Neck Seamless Bra - All in Motion |

I know I have shared these sports bras like 100 times at this point but I feel like I am never impressed by bras or sports bras anymore and I just feel like I need to share them with you guys! I have the frosty lavender and the jade color and love them both. I have gone into the store to look for the black one a couple of times but haven’t seen it in stock, but I definitely have my eyes peeled for it because I love it that much. Some of them are on clearance for $3 off and I think its because they are going to bring in newer colors.

| Moroccan Oil Intense Hydrating Mask |

I use this hydrating hair mask and I leave it in for 2-3 hours and then wash it out in the shower and use shampoo and conditioner after it is rinsed out! It works really well and doesn’t leave my hair feeling really heavy the next morning which is huge for me and one of the things I look for most in a hair mask! I think I will use this 2-3 times a month just for some hydration in my hair, especially going into the pool months and being outside a lot and in the sun.

| Meg Knotted Slide Sandals - Universal Thread |

These sandals have been so great! I have worn them like 3-4 times all day long and haven’t had problems which is awesome. But they are so cute and go so well dressed up or down. I have worn them with this dress from PinkBlush! But also with shorts and a tank top for a causal mini golf date! I am so impressed with them and they are different than your usual sandal, they are more fun! They also come in like three other colors, I have my eye on the purplely/pink color.

Moroccan Oil - I use this hydrating hair mask and I leave it in for 2-3 hours and then wash it out in the shower and use shampoo and conditioner after it is rinsed out! It works really well and doesn’t leave my hair feeling really heavy the next morning which is huge for me and one of the things I look for most in a hair mask!

Superhero Mascara - I can’t say enough good things about this mascara, it is hands down my favorite and I have repurchased it over and over again! I did EXTENSIVE research to find the best mascara and this was my top favorite! I will link my Sephora Mascara Review here for you guys to read but I just love this mascara so much!

Maracujá Juicy Lip - I have this lip balm in about 8 colors and I want literally every color! I love Orchid and Rose but some of my other favorites are Coconut, Hibiscus, and Guava! Its not a lipstick but its not sticky like a gloss which is the perfect combination in my opinion!

Confidence in a Cream - I am still using my first container and will definitely be buying it again, even at full price! It moisturizes, reduces the look of fine lines, smoothes, and evens tone which I really like all of those things about it! I have maybe like 3 weeks left of this tub and should probably just order the next one now so I don’t miss a day!

Gimme Brow Gel - I love how easy it is to use Gimme Brow gel on my brows. I literally don’t grow eyebrow hair somehow to its easy to just basically brunch my brows out with this tinted creamy eyebrow brush and move on with my makeup routine! It takes two seconds and I love how easy it is. I get the shade 3 Medium for reference!

Kerastase Serum - I have had this same bottle for over a year now and it still feels full! I got tone of the first times that I went to see Kristina at Educe Salon here in Orlando. It literally makes your hair feel like you just got a fresh haircut! It heals hair ends, acts as a heat protectant and nourishes damaged hair. It honestly just makes your hair feel so good, I feel like I share this product with everyone that comes into my bathroom, plus everyone on Instagram stories haha!

The Ordinary Peeling Solution - This is new to me and I have only used it once but I wanted to add it here because its usually only $8 but with the discount it is even less! Once I use it a couple more times I will share a more thorough review of the product!

www.tarynintotravel.com | 2022 Sephora Sale Picks | Makeup Sale Picks | Sephora Sale

All Nighter Setting Spray - I can’t even count how many times I have repurchased this but I really love this setting spray. I don’t use it every day but I do use it when I need my makeup to stay all day, like if I am going out or going to have a park day! It works really well and it only takes 2-3 sprays for your full face! They also have a travel size that you could try before committing to the big bottle, just to see if you like it!

Ouai Leave in Conditioner - I use a purple conditioner to keep my blonde, blonde and it can be a little bit drying so I spray this in on my wet hair before I brush out my hair it is so great. I just got the little size to try but when I run out I will be getting the bigger size. But surprisingly the small bottle has lasted me since the beginning of February!

BB Heat Sheild Blow Dry Accelerator - I’ve used this blow dry accelerator for about 4 years now and I have repurchased it like 3 times! I love it so much, it takes about 6 sprays and it makes my hair dry so much faster. it also acts as a heat protectant from the blow dryer and whatever other hot tools I use that day!

Olaplex No 3 - I use this in the shower about once a month, I put it on before my shampoo and it just helps with reducing breakage and split ends, strengthens my hair and restores texture. It really threw me off that I use it before shampoo but it works well!

C Tango Multi Vitamin Eye Cream - I have rebought this and I really like it, I have been using it for about four years now. I feel like it really tightens and brightens my under eyes! Its a part of my skincare routine and I like the vitamin c addition! You can read more here!

Nars Climax Mascara - This was the second runner up in my mascara experiment to find the best mascara at Sephora. Its another great one that last all day long, thickens and lengthens the eyelash and over all great. The only thing I found with this one is that it takes more brush strokes to get the mascara on my lash the way that I like it.

I know it was a lot of info in this post but if you have any questions about any of the products I would be more than happy to answer those for you! There are so many of my favorites in the sale, these are all things that I have been using for a very long time and truly love them! You can comment below and I will get back to you or if you want you can send me an email at tarynintotravel@gmail.com and I will respond there as well!

A weekend at St. Pete Beach

This blog post is going to be a combination of the surprise birthday trip for my cousin back in November and then also the 2 night trip we took with Dustins parents last weekend. I never got around to writing the blog post in November and I feel like combining them is perfect! So this will be less of a travel diary and more informational! Which sometimes I like these posts more than travel diaries because they are more to the point when you are looking for some information on something specific!

WHERE WE STAYED

Back in November we stayed at Bellwether Beach Resort which had just been remodeled and was absolutely beautiful! It was newly remodled and the staff there were so nice. We actually ended up getting upgraded to a room with an ocean view for free which was amazing! They had free parking and free Wi-Fi, which was great. It was also within walking distance to literally everything that we needed to get to like the beach and restaurants. The amenities like the cabana and beach bar were so great, the person working in the cabana made sure that we had everything we could pretty much ever need sitting in the beach chairs all day long! They had towels for us as well which was very nice. We were able to just bring a cooler and drink on the beach, making it fairly inexpensive. The second day we were there we grabbed a drink from the bar and I believe it was around $12 which is pretty standard for a cocktail in Florida.

The second time we visited we stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn St. Pete Beach and it was equally amazing in all of the same ways as the other hotel. Again there was free parking and Wi-Fi and was also within walking distance to everywhere we needed to go. The room was very nice and so was the lobby. The food truck/bar had a couple of gluten free options which was nice. It was raining like crazy when we were here so I’m not able to speak on the beach cabana service because no-one was out there when we were on the beach, but again I think it had something to do with weather. The best part of this hotel was the bar that was next to it, it was called Jimmy B's Beach Bar and there was live music each night we were there that was so much fun!! Like I would honestly go back and stay just to be able to go to that bar, it was such good music!

WHAT WE ATE

I should start off this whole “what we ate” by saying that I did not take one picture of any of my food the entire time {honestly both times} that I was there and I have no idea why! Also, these are all my experiences with a gluten allergy at each restaurant. If you also have an allergy please ask your server before ordering your food!

Breakfast

Kraft Cafe- I was SO HAPPY to find this place! I thought it was going to be a sit down breakfast spot but it was more of a quick service vibe. Nonetheless, they are a 100% gluten free facility and the food was SO good! I probably could have cried happy tears walking in there. They had everything from gf blueberry or chocolate chip pancakes, breakfast pizzas, pastries, sandwiches, different types of toast, omelets.. literally a dream! I got the bacon, potato, sausage and egg breakfast pizza… FREAKIN YUM. So good! I will 100000% be coming back to try more foods. They have two locations in St. Pete, the one downside is that it isn’t on the beach, its downtown. But totally worth the 8 minute drive to get there, I promise!

Frog Pond- This was another local place for sure, it was decorated with frogs and had this like old time-y beach vibe to it. There wasn’t a dedicated gluten free menu but I talked to the server and we decided that the omelet was probably my safest route. She also said that the home fries which were like breakfast potatoes were gluten free and even went back and talked to the chef to triple check. I got the Hangover Omelet that had onions, peppers, cheddar cheese and bacon inside and it was very good. I could have split it with someone thought, it was huge! I recommend this place for sure just make sure you’re in the mood for an omelet!

Lunch

Coconut Charlies - There was really only one time I have been there where it was lunch time and we were still sort of full from breakfast but dinner was still a few hours away so we decided to split the chicken tacos from Coconut Charlies which is the food truck/bar that is on the back of The Hilton Garden Inn St. Pete Beach. We also got a side of chips and salsa, honestly with the first bite of the salsa I knew it was Pace salsa that you can buy at the store but I at least knew it was safe to eat. The tacos were also good and had a yummy chipotle sauce and some sort of cabbage slaw on top of them! It was good but a little pricey for what we actually got.

Dinner

Shells Seafood - This place was surprisingly good. I’m not gonna lie I was concerned about how it was going to all go down because the waitress didn’t seem confident but I didn’t get sick and my meal was seriously delicious! I had a couple of oysters on the half shell which was good. For my main meal I got the Salmon Felix which was fresh salmon topped with jumbo lump crabmeat and roasted red peppers in a lobster cream sauce. That salmon with that sauce may have been the best salmon I have ever had! I got mine with parsley potatoes and asparagus and it was the perfect combination! The only thing I wish we would have done differently was eat outside, so definitely ask to do that when you go!

Snappers - If you’re going for a low key evening afterwards, this would be a good place. I found this on Find Me Gluten Free and I don’t know how much I would recommend it before a night of drinking if I am being honest. Don’t get me wrong, it was really good! I got the Fresh Spinach Salad and added on a salmon filet. But the options for gluten free were really just salads and that was NOT enough sustenance for the many vodka cranberries and green tea shots that would soon be entering our bodies!

RumFish Grill - Honestly, do not waste your time or money trying to eat here. I was so unimpressed with my gluten free meal. My meal alone was $36 and I got Grilled Ahi Tuna with a ginger carrot puree on an arugula salad, it was supposed to come with roasted potatoes but was told that they weren’t safe for a gluten allergy. SO I basically had ahi tuna on a bed of spicy lettuce. Idk, if I didn’t have an allergy it might have been good but I just think you should save your money and go to one of the MANY other good restaurants.

Drinks

MacNastys Sports Bar - This was on the beach strip and was definitely a locals bar. We walked in and I think the three of us were the only girls there with the exception of like 2 others. It was a pretty weird vibe, we had one drink and then decided to leave. I think it would have been more fun if we could have played pool or darts but they were pretty much used by the same people while we were there.

Jimmy B’s Beach Bar - This was such a fun place to spend time! It was like an indoor/outdoor bar with live music every single night of the year! We went there both nights after dinner with Dustin’s parents and had a blast listening to the live music! I would 10/10 recommend going here once while you are on your trip!
Ricks Reef - This place had really strong drinks which was honestly great haha but it took FOREVER for anyone to come take our order after we were sat and told we couldn’t grab a seat at the bar. We actually ended up going up to the bar to order and after we got our drinks from the bar was when someone came over to see if we needed anything.

Five Bucks Drinkery - When we asked someone at dinner where we should go if we were headed downtown, they suggested this place. We spent the majority of our night here. It was a good atmosphere and they had a fun vending machine with alllll sorts of things in there hahah!

Pour Judgement - We had a couple of green tea shots in here! They had fun music playing and the bartenders were a lot of fun to talk to! They also made really cool drinks, defiantly recommend!

Crafty Squirrel - Honestly, I can’t remember if we got a drink in here or if we just say outside for awhile after 5 Buck sort of making a game plan. But it looked cool inside and there were like three dogs outside so I was just happy to be there sitting by the dogs lol!

WHAT WE DID

www.tarynintotravel.com | St. Pete Beach Travel | Gluten Fre St. Pete Beach | Weekend Beach Getaway

If I am being honest, we mostly just hung out at the beach, ate food and found drinks in various places for both trips but the first trip I took there we found these scooters on the side of the road and we rented three of them and had a BLAST going up and down the main roads sidewalks for about 30 minutes. It was such a fun completely unplanned thing to do. We had to download the GoX app to ride. I think it was about $8 per scooter for like 30-35 minutes, totally worth it!

Both trips were so much fun and I will absolutely be going back. We love the shells on the beach and the soft sand and warm water. Its like a version of paradise just 2 hours from our house. Its a quick and easy trip! If you have any questions or think I left something out please let me know! Have you been to St. Pete Beach? What did we miss?! Let me know in the comments!

My 2022 Resolutions | Spring Update

www.tarynintotravel.com | My Resolutions for 2022 | Health Goals | Food Goals | Book Goals |

I said back in my original 2022 Resolutions blog post that I wanted to check back in a few times over the year to see if I actually had kept up with any of my resolutions and its been about 3 months so I thought now would be a good time to do that! There seems to be something in pretty much every category and honestly some things that were forgotten about. But another good thing about checking back in with this list is to be reminded of the things that I wanted to stay on top of! SO, I will quit rambling and just get to it!

  1. Eat 2 fruits and 3 veggies each day - I can’t say that I know for a fact that I ate 2 fruits and 3 veggies a day but I know that because I made this one of my goals, I ate more fruits and veggies. This goal definitely helps because I make a more conscious decision to eat veggies with our dinners every night. Plus adding carrots or apple with peanut butter to my lunch instead of chips also helps! Initially in this goal I wanted to also meal prep my lunches but now instead I just make a more conscious decision {usually when I am eating breakfast} to decide what I am making for lunch and see if it takes any prep and then that helps make better lunch decisions as well.

  2. Take my vitamins every day - This one has stayed pretty consistent and I am so happy about it! Now since the beginning of the year, I am taking different vitamins but nonetheless I am staying consistent with them which is great! I do this that this pill case from Amazon has helped me with staying consistent and then also keeping it in my nightstand helps! Also, it has morning and night separated and I just use it as two weeks and take them in the mornings!

  3. Read 12 books this year - This is one of those goals that defiantly took a back seat when we just had all of our visitors! I wanted to read 12 books this year but I have only read one so far. Its not that I don’t want to read, I just haven’t had/made the time to read these books! I listened to People We Meet on Vacation! I think next I will listen to The Last Mrs. Parrish… maybe I can still fit 12 books in, who knows! Here is the rest of my list.. I know that there aren’t 12 but I didn’t want to pick them all and then want to change or add one later on!

  4. Actually get ready everyday - I would say I am about 50/50 with this one, there are some days that I really have no reason to get ready and I am just doing computer work all day and I just choose to not get ready. Other days I do get ready and I really like it and feel great. But honestly this balance is just fine for me because my schedule is so inconsistent, I actually feel okay with this being more inconsistent. One thing I do want to try is to get ready more days than I don’t each week and that seems much more attainable!

  5. Work out more days than I don’t each month - The beginning of this goal was to use my Peloton more than 10 times each month which would make it cost less than $4 per use which is what I wanted. But I have actually been walking a lot more and overall just more willing to move my body lately which I am so happy about! I still want to workout more days in a month than I don’t but I haven’t been as strict with this because that was more of a tool to get back on track after weekends. But I feel like I don’t need that motivation lately! YAY.

Long story short, not everything has gone exactly according to plan but I actually feel okay about that which is really big for me! I usually have a very all or nothing personality but have been a lot better about that in the past few months and that has helped me a lot. I would love to hear an update on your resolutions!! You can comment below or you can email me at tarynintotravel@gmail.com and I will get back to you ASAP!

REVIEW of Gluten Free at Epcot Flower and Garden Festival | 2022

REVIEW of Gluten Free at Epcot Flower and Garden Festival | 2022

Last Monday my whole family went to Epcot to eat and drink around the world which honestly if you’ve never done that I would definitely add it to your list of things to do! SO, I know that I was so excited about like 20 different foods in my initial post, I tried like 7 or 8 of them and I wanted to actually review them so that you knew what they tasted like going into the Flower and Garden Festival! Most of them were really good but some of them were not worth it at all. There were also things that I literally could not get myself to try, like the Potato Pancake with Applesauce on top.. I got that last year and it was honestly just disgusting to me. I also feel like the chilled potato and leek soup would b something that would have to be force fed to me because...ew. But anyways, here are my thoughts, feelings and emotions on the foods that we tried!

  1. House-made Italian Sausage and Peppers Poutine - Refreshment Port

    • This was LITERALLY so {nice} I got it TWICE. Like If I could eat it every single day I would. It blew my mind that it was completely plant based, I was so skeptical! But WOW, I would go to Epcot right now just to eat this poutine again! 100/10 would recommend you to get this!

  2. Tupelo Honey and Sweet Corn Spoon Bread with jalapeños, bacon, and house-made whipped honey butter - The Honey Bee-stro Hosted by National Honey Board - Near Port of Entry

    • This was the second year that I got this corn bread so I knew what to expect but it is just so yummy! I am not a big sweets person but this is really good and the jalapeños and bacon break up the sweet and all of the flavors mix together really well. 10/10 recommend to get this if you’re gluten free or not!

  3. Taco Vampiro: Barbacoa beef in a corn tortilla with crispy grilled Monterey jack cheese, salsa ranchera, and esquites - Jardin De Fiestas - Mexico

    • I think this was Dustins favorite thing that he had all day! It was good but there was corn on the side and this taco became a 10/10 when we added the corn to the inside of the taco. But there was like melty crispy cheese on the outside of the corn tortilla that was just freakin.. chefs kiss! So yummy!

  4. Crispy Mojo Marinated Pork Belly, with avocado cream, corn salsa, salsa verde, and plantain chips - The Citrus Blossom - Near Port of Entry

    • This was pretty good but also really needed to be served with like two or three more big chips. They had crumbled like one chip on the top of it but other than that it was pretty good! The pork belly was basically the star of the show! I would get it again but maybe I give it like a 7/10?

  5. Arepas topped with melted queso fresco - La Isla Fresca - Between Morocco and France

    • I was not a fan, and maybe I am not the best judge and this was exactly what it was supposed to taste like but I thought that it needed a sauce or maybe more queso fresco? It was good and I did eat all of it but only after I took some of the guacamole from the other arepa and put it on top of this one.

  6. Grilled Street Corn on the Cob with savory garlic spread - Flavor Full Kitchen hosted by Advent Health - Between Imagination and Refreshment Port

    • This was good! I really like corn on the cob, maybe that is a midwest thing lol! This savory garlic spread was a nice touch though! It was yummy and a plus being that it smelled AMAZING walking up to the booth! Probably the mix of corn and garlic together! I would get it again! I actually think that this was my second year having it now that I think about it…

  7. Arepa topped with shrimp, crushed avocado ají, and tomato sauce - La Isla Fresca - Between Morocco and France

    • This arepa was more flavorful than the queso fresco arepa but I just wasn’t a huge fan of it. I think because I took the avocado from this one and put it on the other one I messed up the flavors of how it was supposed to be. But I also felt like the shrimp that was on this arepa was flavorless and just sort of tossed on there like an afterthought. Dustin liked it more than I did though! He would probably give it like a 5.5/10!

5 Makeup Products that I have Repurchased

5 Makeup Products that I have Repurchased

| Gimme Brow Tinted Volumizing Eyebrow Gel |

Gimme Brow is something that I have probably repurchased now seven or eight times. I love how easy it is to use on my brows. I literally don’t grow eyebrow hair somehow to its easy to just basically brunch my brows out with this tinted creamy eyebrow brush and move on with my makeup routine! It takes two seconds and I love how easy it is. You also can’t really mess it up either! I can’t recommend this enough! I get the shade 3 Medium for reference!

| Tula Face Filter Blurring + Moisturizing Primer |

This is my third bottle of the Tula Face Filter Primer and I don’t know that I will ever stop using it! I get mine at the Ulta in my Target, but I have also gotten it from Amazon because I needed it ASAP. But I use mine basically in place of foundation. I love that it still shows some of my freckles but still covers the redness and unevenness in my skin. I really only need one pump on my makeup brush but if you are wanting more coverage you could use two pumps and try to build it up a bit! Tula is another one of those brands that everyone and their mom talks about and I didn’t want to love it but I really do love this Fave Filter Primer! I haven’t tried anything else from Tula but if you try one thing from them let it be this!

| Tarte Shape Tape |

For like two years now I have tried other concealers in hopes to not like the Tarte Shape Tape as much as I do, but I still to this day haven’t found a better concealer. I get mine whenever they are on sale and sometimes they go down to like 2 tubes for the price of one! I always share when its on sale though so you don’t have to always check! But I wear the shape 12N Fair Neutral and its perfect all year round! They do have a new creamier shape tape that I might try soon but I haven’t yet so I will stick to repurchasing the OG Shape Tape!

| IT Cosmetics Superhero Mascara |

I am CERTAIN that you guys are sick of me talking about this mascara but if you have been around for the last 2-3 years then you know I did EXTENSIVE research to find the best mascara and this was my top favorite! I will link my Sephora Mascara Review here for you guys to read but I just love this mascara so much. Sometimes it will go on sale for 50% off and that’s when I grab one or two and stock up because without the sale it is $26. But honestly even at that price I know that I love it and it is worth it to me! My original words on the IT Cosmetics Mascara is this “I love the length it gives my lashes but still makes them look full and it doesn’t take 45 swipes to get the correct amount of product on my lashes. The wand is absolutely perfect as well! Ιt lasted all day and I love how much bang you get for your buck!”

| Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray |

This is a makeup product that I have been using since I was in college and worked at the Coral Ridge Mall in Iowa which was in 2015!! I can’t even count how many times I have repurchased this but I really love this setting spray. As I am tying this I feel like I should have tried another setting spray by now but I guess if it works, why change it! I don’t use it every day but I do use it when I need my makeup to stay all day. Or like going out or a park day! It works really well and it only takes 2-3 sprays! They also have a travel size that you could try before committing to the big bottle, just to see if you like it!
