February Favorite Five

Mix:Bar Blackberry Tonic Perfume

I know that this is something I have shared so so so many times, especially on stories but I wanted to add it as one of my February Favorite Fives. I definitely wanted to add it because I am just blown away with how good it smells and how long it last with it only being $18! I just can’t believe the price point! The Blackberry Tonic scent has notes of: Blackberry, Lily of the Valley, Jasmine, Musk Wood, Vanilla and I didn’t know all of those things together could smell SO good!

Abercrombie 90s Ultra High Rise Straight Jeans

Before I tried these Abercrombie jeans on in the store I completely had it in my head that there was no way I would be spending that much money on a pair of jeans. Fast forward to putting them on my body and seeing the price on sale.. I haven’t looked back and I already have my eye on two other pairs! They are so flattering, so comfortable and so versatile! I love the 90s Ultra High Rise Straight Jeans so much! I have my pair in a 33 short and they hit perfectly above my ankle, you can see in the photo above!

Resistance Serum from Kerastase

I have had this same bottle for over a year now and it still feels full! I got this either the first or second time I went to see Kristina at Educe Salon here in Orlando and I can’t believe I haven’t had to buy another one. It literally makes your hair feel like you just got a fresh haircut! It heals hair ends, acts as a heat protectant and nourishes damaged hair. It honestly just makes your hair feel so good, I feel like I share this product with everyone that comes into my bathroom, plus everyone on Instagram stories haha!

Remington Hair Pro Multi-Styler with Twist & Curl Technology

I bought this right at the beginning of the month and I am very impressed with it! I did not get the girl gene that gives you the natural ability to curl your hair.. somehow I didn’t get that. I can use a wand but that takes forever and I just cannot get a curling iron to work for me, it is so frustrating! But this took really changed the game! Its not hard to use, the only part of my head I have a hard time with is the front three strands of my bangs. I realized I was just holding it wrong and not tight enough and that has really changed it for me! I 100% recommend this to people who struggle to curl their hair.

Amazon Full Length Mirror

I wanted to get a mirror for the guest bedroom that is upstairs because we took the vanity out of that bathroom and never replaced it [we have a lot larger project in mind instead]. Anyways, I wanted a mirror for guests and just couldn’t find what I wanted at HomeGoods or Target so I looked at Amazon and found really good deals! This mirror was way bigger than the one I saw at Target and like a fraction of the price. Once I found it the only thing that I was worried about was it getting broken in delivery but it did come damaged AT ALL! It was really well packaged and I was impressed that nothing had happened to it! It is a black aluminum alloy frame and it is 59" x 16". Really the perfect size for the space I needed it for! I should also mention that it can be hung up or on the floor with the stand that is built in the back of it.

Updated Skincare Favorites

Back in the spring of 2019 was when I wrote the last Skincare blog post. Since then I have moved to Florida and basically have begun to age. Not a ton but there are things with my skin that I have started to not necicasrrily notice but have a much bigger desire now to protect my skin! Hopefully that gigantic sentence made sense haha! It still stays true that I’ve been pretty lucky my whole life when it comes to my skin. Both my mom and my grandma have really great skin and I am SO thankful to have gotten that gene from them! But now that things are changing/could start to change I have some different products and new steps that I have changed up! There are also less steps than their used to be!

Like I said a few years ago, my skin isn’t acne prone and I don’t really break out, honestly I only break out if I skip a day or two with my routine {which happens more than I would like but I am human and forget}! Another very VERY lucky thing now that we live in Florida is that my skin isn’t NEARLY as dry as it used to be! I also have fairly dull skin and it can get red in some spots. My skin used to suck product in like it had never had moisture before in its life. I do still have naturally dry skin but much more manageable now. SO, let’s not waste anymore time and just get into it!

 1. Micellar Water - I have started using Micellar Water to take off my makeup because its gentle, doesn’t leave a residue and it is so easy to use! Plus I don’t have to scrub my eyes to get anything off, it just gently gets the mascara off of my eyes. I also like the oval Cotton Pads because they are just a little bit bigger and I only have to use 1-2 depending on how much makeup I put on that day. The small circles I was having to use like 6 which felt like a waste.

 1. Cerave Foaming Face Wash - For a long time I used this cleanser but would try others that I would see but I always come back to this one! It was recommended to me by my dermatologist for dry skin and it just works really well! I put the cleanser on one of these little face scrubbers and usually put one pump do one half of my face and then do another pump and wash the other half of my face!

 2. IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Cream Anti-Aging Moisturizer - I got this at Target when they had random products from their Ulta partnership go 50% off around Christmas and I am still using my first container and will definitely be buying it again, even at full price! It moisturizes, reduces the look of fine lines, smoothes, and evens tone which I really like all of those things about it!

 3. Clarity Glimmer of Hope Drops - This is a face oil that my facials shared with me! I put it on my face and neck about 4 times a week. The only time I don’t use it is if I am not putting makeup on or really leaving the house. It is so great for people who live in Florida or somewhere it is super sunny year round. It helps address sun damage, dullness and conditions the skin. Plus it just leaves you with a glow that is fantastic under your makeup! It also has SPF 30 in it!

 4. C-Tango Eye Cream - I put a less than a pea size pump on my fourth finger and then apply it under my eyes! This is the same that I did back in Boston and my last skincare blog post! I have been using this product for about 4 years now! I love it and use it to brighten my under eyes!

 5. Calm Water Gel - This is another product that was recommended by my facials. For me I use it more when I have been in the sun or had a long day without a lot of moisture. It really just immediately rehydrates your skin. Its sort of like “a drink or water” for your skin which is great! I use this about 1-4 times a week just to add moisture to my skin. But mainly use it after being in the sun for a quick fix when my skin is “thirsty”!

I have definitely found all of my favorite products for the steps that I have above. There are two things that I haven’t found like THE ONE of and those are a toner which I would use after washing my face before the oils and moisturizer. The other product that I am still on the hunt for my favorite of is a face sunscreen. I have tried probably 4 and just don’t love the way they feel or look under my makeup. Especially living in Florida I know that sunscreen is important and do use it I just wish I had one that I could just add into my everyday routine for the days that I accidentally go to the parks and forget sunscreen altogether. I would feel a lot better about forggeting sunscreen if I knew my face was already protected from a product that I use everyday. I know that the Glimmer of Hope Drops have some SPF in it but I know that’s not what its main job is! So that is why I am looking into new options for an everyday facial sunscreen. If you have one that you use I would love to know what it is! You can comment below, I would really appreciate it!

I also feel like I should mention that I forget to take off my makeup or wash my face at least twice a week! Because nothing is more frustrating than getting on Instagram and someone talking about how they never skip a night of doing their 72 step face routine. I had to find a routine that was taking care of the things I was concerned about {dullness, sun damage and dryness} while also being easy to accomplish for sure. I have been so happy with this routine lately. I also wanted to mention that it is 100% okay to switch things up if you feel they are not working for you any more! Because your skin will change!

Odele Volumizing Shampoo

I’ve been using this shampoo opposite the days that I use my Olaplex shampoo and I am loving it! Its only like $13 which is great compared to the Olaplex! I will say that you have to shampoo twice when you use this. I don’t mind that though because then the second time when the soap suds up it feels like my hair is getting really clean! I get mine at Target!

Wild Fable Denim Jacket

You guys have seen me wear this jean jacket over and over and over again. I don’t have a winter jacket at all being here in Florida and this is kind of used in place for one! I love that it is a little oversized and it fits over sweatshirts if I need it to. PLUS it is on clearance now which is awesome, so snag it while its still available! I think I am going to get a second one so I can put my Disney patches on it for the parks!

People We Meet On Vacation

Dustin and I started this book when we were driving home to Iowa and listened to it a bit on the drive back to Florida but we didn’t get to finish it. But once we were home I listened to it when I would run errands or something! But its like an actually funny book and I thought it was very easy to follow along with! It was a fun read and I have another book on my reading list for the year by Emily Henry because I liked this one so much!

Pandora Mickey Mouse Ring

I got this ring in Disney Springs at the Pandora store one night after a few drinks at Raglan Road and I don't regret that decision one bit! My sister got the same one and we both wear them all the time! I love all of my rings from Pandora but this one might just be my favorite!

Target Blaire Sneakers

This is another favorite purchase that I made and I can’t stop wearing them! I can literally wear them with anything, a dress, Spanx leather leggings, mom jeans, skinny jeans, literally anything. I love the neutral color and I can even wear them all day at the parks! I wore these the day that Taylor and I did Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Epcot all in one day and I was nervous going into it but my feet were fine!

My 2022 Resolutions

Happy New Year Friends!

I haven’t ever done a post like this but this year I actually wrote out my resolutions in the notes app on my phone. Usually I just say things out loud like “I want to eat better” or “I want to workout more” and they are just grand statements but not actually achievable goals for me. I do a lot better with smaller tasks and checkpoints because it actually feels like I am getting somewhere with my goals! So that’s what I am doing this year. I’m not going to share ALL of my goals, because some are just more personal, but I will share most of them! So with this list I will share the goal that I made and then how I am going to break it down to achievable, checkable goal!

www.tarynintotravel.com | New Years Goals | Goals for the New Year |
 1. Eat 2 fruits and 3 veggies each day - when I first made this a goal I said one fruit and one veggie with each meal but I think that’s not going to be attainable for my breakfasts. Breaking it down so that I just get them in makes it easier and more likely to get done! This will also help me cook more well rounded meals, which was another goal of mine! At the beginning of 2020 we were cooking SO many meals from The Defined Dish cookbook. It is a whole30 cookbook but we weren’t doing Whole30. We just swapped things as needed, but honestly we didn’t have to do that much and they were DELISH. The same Person just came out with a second cookbook and I just ordered it! Its called The Comfortable Kitchen! I also want to meal prep my lunches! I work from home but I take way too long around lunch time to figure out what I want to eat and then that turns into household chores and things so I just want to go back to prepping SOMETHING for my lunch on Sundays so there is no questions when it comes to 12:00 during the week! I think I am going to start this week with my giant chopped salads prepped and then I will pop some chicken nuggets into the air fryer daily for some protein. But I might mix some weeks up and make my Gluten Free Crockpot Chili! One pot will last me about 1 dinner for two people and then 5 lunches for me!

 2. Take my vitamins every day - This one might seem simple of insignificant to some people but I have been taking my vitamins every day for the last three weeks (before the new year started obviously) and I honestly feel accomplished and proud of myself for doing it. I struggle with consistency and having the last three weeks of proof that I can take then daily really has been awesome for me! I recently got this pill case from Amazon and it has morning and night separated and I just use it as two weeks!

 3. Read 12 books this year - Another goal that probably seems small to others but I do like reading/listening to books I just NEVER make the time for myself to do it. I always think I could be doing about 10 other things. But at the tail end of 2021 I started listening to books and it was a lot easier for me to do. Here are a few from my “to read in 2022” list! I just need to come up with 2 more! I am going to start by listening to the book People We Meet on Vacation!

 4. Actually get ready everyday - One thing that I am trying to get better about is actually getting ready for my days. For me that would be putting makeup on, doing my hair and putting on an outfit that makes me feel good! It doesn’t have to be a super dressy outfit, it could be an oversized tee, bike shorts and a hat but I will still feel put together and I think that will help with my productivity which I am ALL ABOUT this year!

 5. Work out more days than I don’t each month - There are a few layers to the “lets be healthier” goal. I wanted to break it up and actually make it attainable like the food goals! So I want to workout more days in a month than I don’t. This doesn’t make it so strict like working out 6 days a week, etc. I want to use the peloton more than 10 times a month. Doing this will make the Pelaton cost less than $4 which is what I wanted! Thats not including the other person that uses is {cost wise}! Bottom line is I just want to move my body more!

Like I said at the beginning there are a few other things on my resolutions list but these are the main ones that I wanted to share with you guys. I think having all of these out in the open will make me stick to them a little bit more! I also want to create like an update post of sorts each quarter to update how these goals have been going! Did you guys set any goals this year? I would love to hear what they are! You can comment below or you can email me at tarynintotravel@gmail.com and I will get back to you ASAP!
