Vintage St. Patricks Day Tees

When I first started looking for tees for St. Patricks Day I was STUMPED. I couldn’t find any that I like, they all seemed pretty lame. But then my mom showed me a more vintage looking tee and it all clicked! I have been loving the vintage look lately and its perfect for SPD because then you can actually rewear the shirt and not just tuck it into the back of the closet for next year. Not all of them are vintage but they are tees for things that don’t say “kiss me I’m Irish”. You will see that they are cute! I also thought about going the green top route but I am really into the tee shirt tucked into denim or joggers look right now so I just went with it!

IMG_0484.jpeg

These jeans were so unexpectedly amazing I couldn’t even believe how well they fit and how comfortable they were when I put them on! They were less than $45 on Amazon Prime, I mean how can you say no to that?! They are so comfortable and held up in the washing machine better than I expected. They color didn’t fade and I really thought they were going to only because most of my jeans do and really I’m just not that lucky {pun fully intended lol}when it comes to laundry!

You will see all of the tees below! I would love to know which is your favorite! I am loving the Smokey the bear option {I mean obviously that’s the one I got lol} but also the old Mountain Dew tee or the Living with the Land tee {HELLO DISNEY OPTION}. I couldn’t make a list like this and not included something from Disney. Like I said before, comment your favorite one! I want to know which one you like!!

Gluten Free Frozen Favorites

A few years back when it was the beginning of me not being able to have gluten I was so worried about the lack of some of those more convenient gluten free foods but I have actually found all I could ever want/need in the frozen food department which I am so happy about! In honor of National Frozen Food day I wanted to share all of these great finds that I have collected or found over the last couple of years.

  1. Brazi Bites - these is a newer find for me but they are SO great when you order pizza and want a side. Usually my husband will order breadsticks for himself and I can’t have any but with these we literally pop them in the oven for 20 minutes and they are ready by the time the pizza arrives. They are delish - I will say though I wasn’t a super fan of the cinnamon sugar kind, only the cheese filled bites. I find these at Whole Foods or Costco!

  2. Natures Path Chocolate Chip Frozen Waffles - They are so good, I usually cook two and then put peanut butter and jelly on them and make them into sandwich when I am in a rush to get somewhere. I find them at Target! I also think that these are better than most gf waffles that have chocolate/berries in them - they don’t have a weird after taste.

  3. Chicken Nuggets - I have tried A LOT of gluten free chicken nuggets and I like these two kinds the best. First are the gluten free chicken nuggets from Trader Joe’s, they are yummy and the breading is very good! The others I get from Target and are newer to me, they are the Tyson’s Naturals chicken nuggets and the breading gets so crunchy which I love becuase I will put them on a sandwich or a salad and its so good.

  4. Jasmine Rice - This is from Trader Joe’s and so helpful when you don’t know what to make for dinner. We use this sometimes in our Chicken Fried Rice if we are short on time because it takes like 3 minutes! Here is the link to that Chicken Fried Rice recipe.. Definatly add it into the weekly rotation, you won’t be sorry!

  5. Gluten Free frozen pancakes - These are specifically from Trader Joe’s and holy cannoli they are good! These are also dairy free if that is something that you need as well! Add a little PB and syrup and yum! Speaking of which.. do you eat pancakes with peanut butter?!

  6. Mahi Mahi burgers from Trader Joe’s - We like to get these for dinners. It’s a quick “pull it out of the freezer and cook” type of meal. Add guacamole on top or an aoli if you’re feeling crazy and then eat! The box says it only takes about 6-8 minutes to cook but I would say it takes like 12-15! Serve with French fries and you are set!

  7. Black Bean burgers - They are from the brand Gardein and I get them from Target. Sometimes I can get them on Amazon Fresh but lately they have been sold out or unavailable… so Target it is! I make them for lunch with a bun and dang its so good. It’s a little spicy on its own but I like to add some type of spicy sauce to add to it a bit.

I would love to hear if you have a frozen gluten free favorite food! You can always email me at tarynintotravel@gmail.com or just shoot me a DM on Instagram!

Eco-Friendly Finds on Amazon

Without me even really realizing it, 2020 has already started to be the year of making some changes to our day to day lives that include more eco-friendly products! I don’t know if its because we live at the beach and see how much trash accumulates or what but I am suddenly more aware of all of the plastic we use and waste we produce! By no means has this been an over night change, I am not perfect and I still make mistakes and use things that I shouldn’t! But I am trying. There are six ways that I have changed already and feel really good about/am in the habit of doing. On the other hand, there about 10 more ways that I am moving in the direction of having these habits.

I am going to bullet point the items that I am already using I’m my day to day life first and then I will talk about the things that I have ordered and are on the way to make the change with.

  1. Erase Your Face washcloths - I have talked about these a couple of times before and I love them! Not only are they much easier to remove my makeup with… they are better for the environment than the one time use make up remover wipes! If I have a lot of make up on then I use the whole thing but if I just have my basic everyday makeup on, I can use the cloth twice! Once I am done with it I throw it in the dirty clothes and wash it with everything else!

  2. Dryer balls - instead of buying dryer sheets we switched to dryer balls. This was the first switch we made and have used them for about a year and we love it. We save money on dryer sheets and these have lasted so long! Seriously, we have only bought them once and I believe it was right when we moved to Boston. They collect just as much fur and lint as dryer sheets and if you want an added smell you can use essential oils. We don’t though, our clothes keep the good smell from our fabric softener in the wash!

  3. Saalt Cup - Now trust me when I say I never ever thought I would be talking about a period cup on my blog but here we are. I have saved so much money and waste from this cup! It costs less than $30 and it works so well! It doesn’t feel any different or uncomfortable {which is what I was worried about}. I am so glad I made this switch!

  4. Stasher Bags - We have been plastic baggie free since we moved to Boston, we have just never bought them here. Instead of baggies we would just use our glass Tupperware containers. But that was getting frustrating to bring like a small snack to work with so we decided to look into reusable bags. We went with Stasher bags because they were dishwasher safe and from the theme of this post I like things that are easy. Now if I want to bring a snack to work with me I can just put it into a Stasher bag rather than lugging a huge Tupperware.

  5. Reusable portable cutlery - This is a more recent find that my friend actually introduced me to! But wow this little pouch is filled with everything that I need! It comes with a few straws, a fork, knife and a spoon {oh and a straw cleaning tool} but its so helpful. I bring it with me when I go downtown to work and I can use the fork or spoon instead of grabbing one use plastic forks and spoons. I use the straws more than anything though, any coffee or drink that I get I can just use my own straw! I can wash/rinse them in the bathroom at the restaurant or I can just stick it back in the sleek pouch and wash it with my dishes at home! This is such an easy change when you keep it in your purse or work bag.

  6. Reusable k-cup pods - This one is pretty self explanatory but lets be real… K-cups aren’t cheap and I think that the coffee grounds taste better and make the coffee stronger! We have had these since last Christmas {2018} and I use 1-2 every single day. Plus I am not throwing away a cup of plastic every time I would like to have a cup of coffee!

Here are some things that I have either just ordered or have my eye on and haven’t pulled the trigger on yet.

  1. Beeswax wrapping - Dustin takes sandwhiches to work and we ordered these to make the switch from tin foil to beeswax wrap - I will keep you guys posted.

  2. Reusable makeup pads - I know that I talked about the big clothes above but these are more for wiping off eye makeup residue with micelar water after a shower rather than using the big “erase your face cloths”. I ordered these and will follow up with what I think after a few uses!

  3. Produce bags - I bought these to take with me to the grocery store when I buy produce. This one will probably be though for me to change but I think if I set my mind to do it I will! The main thing will be just to remember to bring them! Up until now I pretty much cringe every time we grab a plastic bag to get apples or avocados. Again, I will keep you posted!

I will say that once I started making these easy little changes at a time I started wanting to do more! I also know that I said this before but you DO NOT HAVE TO DO IT ALL AT ONCE. Sorry for the all caps words but its so true! Just try one thing, once that is manageable, try another! There is no reason to spend a ton of money all at once with these new changes. With that being said, one thing that I keep noticing myself saying a ton in this post is that each of these products have SAVED ME/US MONEY as well as helping the environment. It’s a win win. Just don’t feel rushed!

Valentines Day Board

This post is really just for fun! I love creating these kinds of boards even when its not a charcuterie board. I love the conversation that they start at a get together or gathering, they are the perfect centerpiece! You can make this for a Valentine’s Day Brunch or a Galentine’s get together! It would even be fun to scale it down a little bit and make for you and your significant other for a fun date night in! If you were going to do this for a date night with your SO, I would have a movie night {or we like to play Mario Party} with popcorn, this board and some other snacks that you can munch on throughout the movie or game! It’s such an easy way to create something special for you two to enjoy! If you are going the Galentine’s Day route then you can have it as a grazing situation before or after a brunch!

Valentine’s Day Board Needs

  • Sour Patch Kids Hearts

  • Classic Tiny Conversation Hearts

  • Twizzlers bites

  • Starburst Heart Shaped Jelly Beans

  • Dove Hearts

  • Peanut m&ms {pink, red, and white of course}

  • Cinnamon Lips

  • Strawberries

  • Gluten Free Brownie Bites

  • …anything else your heart desires!

I mention this all of the time when I create these types of boards that there are literally no rules, you can’t mess it up! You get to do whatever you want and nobody is going to critique you because it is exactly how you intended it to be! Sο I hope you enjoy this post and of course as always if you have any questions let me know, I would be so happy to answer them!

Night Time Skincare Routine

Www.tarynintotravel.com | Nighttime Skincare Routine | #skincare #skincareroutine #drunkelephant #beautycounter

I’ve been pretty lucky my whole life when it comes to my skin. Both my mom and my grandma have really great skin and I am SO thankful to have gotten that gene from them. The only downside of that is I didn’t start taking care of my skin until {don’t cringe} about two years ago! Like I’m talking never washed my face before bed, only used makeup remover wipes to get my makeup off and most of the time it was in the morning just to put new makeup on.. I know, it was REALLY bad. But at least it is better now and I have been doing this skincare routine that I LOVE and isn’t hard to maintain.

My skin isn’t acne prone and I don’t really break out {which is why I didn’t have a skincare routine}. The only thing that I struggle with which is a new thing is really dry skin. This didn’t start until we moved to Boston which is so weird because we live on the beach and the air isn’t dry. But that is something that I took into account when I was choosing my skincare products. I use a combo of two brands and sometimes three.

  1. Erase Your Face - I use these cloths that I found a couple of months ago to take off the majority of my makeup, they seem to work MIRACLES.

  2. Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser - I use the Drunk Elephants’ Beste NO. 9 Jelly Cleanser on a day to day basis. If I am having a really bad dry skin stretch then I will use the Cerave gentle cleanser that was recommended by my dermatologist. I put it on damp white washcloth and then gently scrub the rest off. I like using the white cloth because I want to know when it is actually all off of my face.

  3. Beauty Counter Countermatch Adaptive Moisturizer - This is something newer that I have added/replaced for the winter and my skin is loving it! I was using the Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Moisturizer but it just wasn’t cutting it for the dryer months. But I love the Beautycounter moisturizer and the idea of cleaner skincare! If you have any questions you can talk to my friend Liv from Style by Liv and she is more than happy to answer all of your Beauty Counter questions!

  4. Virgin Marula Facial Oil - I use this in the morning and at night and I don’t know how I never put an oil on my face before this product but it is so good and feels so good on my skin! I actually put this into my moisturizer and run it into my face together, there is just something about having straight oil on my hands that grosses me out lol

  5. C-Tango Eye Cream - I put a less than a pea size pump on my fourth finger and then apply it under my eyes!

  6. F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial - This is the newest edition to my skincare routine and I will use this year round! It is SO hydrating and I wake up with such great glowing and moisturized skin! I use this about 3-4 times a week just as added moisture to my skin. During the summer I might cut back a couple of days but even then probably not because I imagine it will still be great from sun!

  7. Laneige Lip mask - I have SUCH dry lips, like I would constantly have Vaseline on my lips. But since adding this to the nightly routine I defiantly have seen a difference and I am so impressed with the results from using it! I don’t have to constantly be adding more and more product to my lips. I use this every day and still have so much product that is in the little sample size container that I bought. A little goes a long way for sure!

Wow.. After writing this all it sounds like a lot but it really only takes me like 3-5 minutes which isn’t long at all! But I also don’t want to sound like I never forget to take my makeup off! There have defiantly been days when I wake up with a pimple because I didn’t take my makeup off. I have been so happy with this routine and have also recently learned that it is okay to switch things up if you feel they are not working for you any more!

10 Movies I Should Have Seen by Now But Haven’t

www.tarynintotravel.com | 10 Movies I Should Have Seen by Now But Haven't | Romcoms | Chick Flicks

Today’s post is a little more fun and its a way for us to get to know each other a little bit better! One thing to know about me is that I really reallly really dislike watching movies that I haven’t seen before.. I know, that doesn’t make much sense.. AT ALL. But I just like to know how things end. I really haven’t seen A LOT of movies that as a person of my age I should have seen by now. Like honestly, Dustin has seen more of them than I have! Without further ado.. here is the list of movies that I need to watch.

Movies that I haven’t seen

  1. The Titanic

  2. The Notebook

  3. 16 Candles

  4. Dirty Dancing

  5. Pretty in Pink

  6. Dear John

  7. Sleepless in Seattle

  8. 50 First Dates

  9. You’ve Got Mail

  10. When Harry Met Sally

The sad part is.. I can actually think of more of them 😅. The other sad thing is that I have not desire to watch any of these movies what-so-ever. I don’t like feeling feelings lol if that even makes sense and I just feel like these movies will definitely make me feel… feelings.. I decided to write this because I can’t be the only one haha I would love to hear if you have seen all of these movies or if you haven’t. I made a checklist so you can add it to your stories and share!

I am going to start making these about once a month just to show you guys how much flexibly there is when it comes to making a charcuterie board! I love all of the different options there are as well! If you want a candy board, make one! If you want just cheese and meats, absolutely go for it! You can do whatever you want with whichever ingredients you would like.

Latest Amazon Finds

Over the past couple of months I have found some pretty awesome stuff on amazon! This is probably the most random assortment of things but we’re just going to go with it. Lol

IMG_1876.png
  1. Necklace Holder - After working at Francescas Collections for two year I defiantly acquired some necklaces and I never had a place to put them! This is so cute and works perfectly in our bathroom. I like the tray at the bottom for earrings as well!

  2. Foam Roller - I bought this after working out for a couple of weeks 😅, this thing saves my leg muscles! It lets me workout again the next day and not need to take breaks like I used to!

  3. Fabric Defuzzer - This thing is magical and I have extended the life of so many things in our apartment! Our bar stools are fabric and they get so pilly {is that even a word?!} and I am able to basically shave the chairs and they look new again! It also works on sweaters!

  4. Stasher Bags - I am a huge snacker, especially when I am in the zone working on something. But we don’t use plastic bags and our glass Tupperware gets really heavy in my bag so I wanted to find an alternative and I love these! I can even put them in the dishwasher!

  5. Collagen for Her - I am still testing this out but I like that there is no taste. I can put it in my protein shake or in my coffee in the morning. I have also read some info on it helping to recover muscles quicker {I am not a doctor obviously lol} but I think it has been helping!

  6. Corkcicle Water Bottle - I got this for Dustin for Christmas and he uses it every single day! He loves how much water it holds and he also likes that he can put his Mio in it and then the flavor doesn’t carry into the next drink. Like if he is drinking water next he doesn’t still taste the Mio flavor.

  7. Rechargable Lighter - I LOVE this thing! I hate lighting a candle with a regular lighter because of the flame and my lack of coordination which usually leads to me burning the crap out of my finger. But this thing is a life changer! Super easy and the charge lasts a long time!

  8. Defined Dish Cookbook - You guys. We have cooked from this cookbook 14 out of the 16 days that we have had it! Everything is so yummy and it makes dinner fun! We cook the meals together and we love the food! We aren’t doing Whole 30 but we love this book for the gluten free meals!

  9. Erase Your Face - I was SO skeptical of these when I first saw them but they are AMAZING. They take ALL of my makeup off with just water, like insane how well it takes my makeup off. No more makeup remover wipes! I literally get it wet with just water, remove my make up and then throw it into the washing machine and it works the same after washing it.

  10. Revlon Hair Dryer Brush - I got this for Christmas {Dustin and I celebrated a bit early this year} and I immediately turned around and Amazon Primed it to my mom as her Christmas gift! I love using it with my short hair, too!

Recent Sephora Favorites

Let me just preface this whole blog post with the statement that I am not a beauty blogger nor do I claim to be one. I am just taking you guys along on my makeup journey lol. Over last few months I have been trying to get makeup products that I love and that I want to go back to over and over again. Until recently, I would just buy what ever I could find that was on sale and just go with it because I didn’t want to think that much about it. Another factor with changing up my makeup from drugstore-whatever-I-can-find products to higher end products is that since moving to Boston my skin is SO different, it is so dry and I break out in a rash if my skin doesn’t like what I put on it. I think it could be a combination of the move and getting a little older but nonetheless, I am changing things up. This also hasn’t been a over night process because makeup isn’t cheap.. lol I have been slowly adding things into my routine and testing them on my skin.

The Products

  1. Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask - I have heard so many good things about this mask, its literally all over the internet. But it really does live up to the hype. It is a great lip mask! It says that it is for night time but I use it throughout the day when my lips are really dry - it also adds a little pink to my lips which I like. The mask gives my lips a relief that my Vaseline doesn’t always give. It is definitely something I will buy again and again.

  2. Becca First Light Primer - I have never really used a primer before but I got this one in a kit that I ordered around Christmas and I love how smooth my makeup looks when I use it! I could also be crazy but I think that it adds an extra level of moisture to my face before putting on the rest of my makeup. I have a small tube of it and I will be repurchasing it!

  3. Benefit Gimme Brow - I got this in a kit as well that I ordered and I am loving how easy it is to fill in my brows. This is a great product if I am in a hurry and just trying to add some color/filler to my brows. The only downside is that I do still need to use a pencil if I am going for a more dramatic look {lol I sound so official when I say “more dramatic look”} but it does still speed up the whole brows process. I will rebuy this for sure!

  4. Urban Decay Setting Spray - YOU GUYS. I used this a few years ago and its like I blacked out and never rebought it. I have no idea why I stopped using it! I love this setting spray, my makeup lasts so much longer throughout the day. Also, I am not sure if this is the way its supposed to be done but I put all my makeup on except mascara and then spray my whole face with the setting spray and then put mascara on. I don’t know why I do this, honestly it’s probably becuase I don’t want to wait for my mascara to dry before I spray my face so I don’t blink and get mascara all over my eyes. Lol I will definitely NOT black out and forget to repurchase this again in the future.

  5. Becca Hydra Mist Set & Refresh Powder - I really like that this product doesn’t make my under eyes super dry. Around my eyes is one of the places that gets really dry on my skin and I have to be very careful with powder around my eyes. Again, this was a product in a kit that I ordered so I decided to just give it a try and see how it went with no expectations and I love it! It sets my under eyes with out taking away allllll of the moisture. It lets me keep my makeup on longer as well because with other setting powders I am ready to take my makeup off by 4:00 pm because of the dryness.
