Halloween Inspired Charcuterie Board

I am back with another charcuterie board but this time and I have wanted to do a smaller Halloween theme for so long but have never gotten around to doing it. But this is the year, it is time! If you have been around, you might remember the HUGE Halloween Charcuterie Board that I did a few years ago- that thing covered my entire kitchen island and it might have been one of my favorite projects ever! For this board I wanted it to have spooky elements but not gross because that’s really not my style at all!

Now let’s take all these ingredients and make something really cool!

WHAT I USED!

  • Moon drop grapes

  • Pomegranate Seeds

  • White aged cheddar

  • Blue cheese

  • Blueberry and cinnamon coated goat cheese

  • Mini Brie Wheels

  • Mike’s Hot Honey

  • Milk chocolate covered almonds

  • Merlot Bellavitano cheese

  • Almonds, dried cranberries and dark chocolate mix

  • Herb Coated Salami

  • Prosciutto

I also added in these little skulls that came in a pack from Target and the bag was secured with the even littler skulls that added a fun touch! Lastly, the spiders were a fun addition and I got those in a bag with some fake spiderweb decor which was also from Target. You can shop the skulls here and the spiders here!

The star of the show though was the CUTEST charcuterie board that I grabbed! I literally couldn’t walk away without this coffin charcuterie board. I liked that I could use it for a cheese board but it also doubles as home decor! After I got done with making the charcuterie board I put it up against the wall in front of an outlet in the kitchen and put the skull candle and a pumpkin in front of it for decoration!

Later on I have a Mediterranean Charcuterie board planned and a Popcorn Bar coming your way as well! Happy Friday you guys! Wow its been a minute since I have build a charcuterie board! I missed it so much and it was great to be back building them. During quarantine I really had no reason to make one just because it was just me and Dustin. I made one back in March but we ended up taking it back apart and eating it just in bits here and there. I was so happy to make this one because Dustin and I actually had it for dinner the other night. I like building them because it is usually a conversation started when I bring them to parties and get togethers. For this one, Dustin got back from the airport around 2pm and I needed to be at the airport the next morning at 5am. So we had this for a little catch up date night! It was perfect, I think it worked for dinner because it wasn’t all meat and cheese, I added fruit and tons of different textures!

-Salami

I always love putting together videos when I build boards because they are so fun to watch! You get to see the progression of the board and really my thoughts as I put it together. Nine times out of ten I change my mind and rearrange things up until the very end! You can see the video below!!

What is your favorite thing to put on a charcuterie board? Mine definitely changes with the season but usually a reallllly good aged cheddar must make it onto my boards. But surprisingly my favorite thing on this one was the rosemary asiago! OMG YUM. It is freakin’ delish. I would love to hear what your favorite thing is on a board. Spring Inspired Charcuterie Board

I felt like it was definitely time for some brighter colors and I am more than ready for spring! I wanted to do a “Spring Inspired Charcuterie Board” to give you some inspiration for future get together. Hey! You could even build something fun like this with your kiddos or spouse and have it for a weekend snack with a drink! It doesn’t need to just be for a big get together. I love that about cheese boards because you can make them as big or as small as you need them to be! They can also be made for any occasion that you have {or don’t have}. I made this a few days back and Dustin and I snacked on it for a couple of days!

I am going to start making these about once a month just to show you guys how much flexibly there is when it comes to making a charcuterie board! I love all of the different options there are as well! If you want a candy board, make one! If you want just cheese and meats, absolutely go for it! You can do whatever you want with whichever ingredients you would like.

Christmas Grazing Table

This is honestly one of my favorite things that I have ever put together.. I love the way that it turned out! I’ve said this before but I think that when you have guests its hard to gage when people are hungry and I like having food around to snack on that people don’t feel weird about grabbing. It is so easy to put something like this {of any size} together that people can pick and choose what they like and don’t like and then you aren’t having to worry about making something that everyone will want to eat. Here is my Christmas Grazing Table!

The Setup

The decor that is on the table is 100% from Target! They are all old but you could easily find new versions of these things. The trees I found at the dollar spot along with most of the houses. The jingle bells, lighted garland and the pine cones are from the Christmas area of Target and then there are a couple of the houses that are Hearth and Hand!

4 Wine and Cheese Pairings

I feel like this has just been the week of hosting blog posts, but who am I kidding- I love it! I wanted to share some wine and cheese pairings that you can put out at your next get together. I love taking the guessing out of what you are serving and you can just enjoy the company! These are my four go-to’s when I am having people over. I know that I post really large charcuterie boards but you can put out something as simple as cheese and cracker, it doesn’t need to be extravagant. I will give you some examples below!

www.tarynintotravel.com | Cheese and Wine Pairings | #cheeseandwinepairings #wineandcheese 4.jpeg

Pino Noir and Brie

This is always my first thought, especially in the fall and winter. I love pairing a creamy, buttery brie with a pino noir. You can always leave it as just brie and wine or you can elevate the cheese and add a jam! My perfect combination is brie with rhubarb jam and Simple Mills almond flour crackers! Its both salty and sweet!

www.tarynintotravel.com | Cheese and Wine Pairings | #cheeseandwinepairings #wineandcheese .jpeg

Pino Grigio and Gouda

Gouda is a bit heavier but the Pino Grigio complements the cheese with its lighter taste of the Pino Grigio! If you are wanting to add a bit to the cheese you can pair it with dried apricots and table crackers! If you are gluten free I like the Schar Gluten Free Table Crackers. This is such an easy combination to put together because you can just set out the gouda, apricots and crackers on the cheese plate and your guests can decide how they would like to eat it!

Riesling and Goat Cheese

This is one of the yummiest combinations! I love goat cheese… I mean LOVE it! We had a great combo at on our Halloween Grazing Table that was the goat cheese log rolled in fig jam and crushed pistachios! Another option would be the goat cheese log rolled in honey and then rolled in a mixture of finely chopped apricots and almonds! The sweet Riesling will complement the dense texture of the cheese!

www.tarynintotravel.com | Cheese and Wine Pairings | #cheeseandwinepairings #wineandcheese 1.jpeg

Merlot and Aged Cheddar

This combination is SO yummy in the winter and so easy because it doesn’t need to be really paired with anything. I like crackers paired with the cheddar! You really don’t need much more, the cheddar goes nicely on table crackers as well! Or if you like the saltiness, you can use Simple Mills Crackers instead!

Here are my favorites for entertaining a small crowd!

As always, I am here for questions! I would be THRILLED to help you figure out what you will be serving for your next get together. No matter how large or small, just ask!

Thanksgiving Grazing Table

I cannot even tell you how much fun it was to put together the Halloween Grazing table a couple of weeks back. I wanted to make something for Thanksgiving as well, we have tons of family and friends coming into town in the next few weeks and charcuterie boards or grazing tables are such an easy thing to have out for people. I think that when you have guests its hard to gage when people are hungry and I like having food around to snack on that people don’t feel weird about grabbing. This is also a very easy way to have variety out and people can eat what they want and pick around what they don’t like. This is not nearly as big as the Halloween Grazing Table but here is what you will need for your Thanksgiving Grazing Table!

Here’s what you will need

Cheeses

  • Brie Wheel

  • Manchego

  • Red Wine Soaked Goat Cheese

  • Dijon Herb Rubbed Fontina

  • Dubliner Cheese

  • Aged Cheddar

  • Cabot Clothbound Cheddar

  • Havarti

  • Blue Cheese

  • Vermont Extra Sharp Cheddar

Meats

  • Prosciutto

  • Genoa Salami

  • Pepperoni

Extras

  • Marcona Almonds

  • Table Crackers

  • Simple Mills Almond Flour Crackers

  • Dried Apricots

  • Pumpkin Seeds

  • Dried Cranberries

Halloween Grazing Table

Last week I wrote a post talking about the things I was going to buy for our Halloween party and then on Friday we actually had the party. It. Was. So. FUN! And the grazing table was a hit! One thing that I needed to let go of right away when I started that day was that it wasn’t going to look exactly the way I had it pictured and that was okay! I should have taken my own advice from the start and remembered that I can’t do what I want when I am doing a charcuterie board and there aren’t any rules! If you are new around here I put that in pretty much every single post that I have done with a charcuterie board in it. Well lets get down to it, if you need the halloween decor you can get that here! The only thing left to share is the food and the final result.

I should also note that we did 90% of our shopping for the Halloween Party at Costco and then some miscellaneous last minute things that I decided I had to have from Target. But all of these things can really be picked up from anywhere that sells cheese! I like to think of this post more as inspiration to get ideas for your own tables because again you get to do what you want!

Fall Inspired Charcuterie Board

I am back with another charcuterie board but this time I used things that remind me of fall! I used things like apples, caramel, pumpkin seeds and other fall things that I chose pretty much because they made me happy haha which I think is a perfect way to choose things to put on your charcuterie board! You will see in the video below that I changed my mind quite a bit on the layout of the board. I start one way but then change it and that is the best part, it can be whatever I want it to be!
