Upscale Halloween Party Decor

I have never been a huge Halloween person, I don’t like being scared, I don’t like scary movies, I don’t like the idea of someone scaring me… it’s really just not for me. BUT what I do love is a good theme and decorating for a party. Haha Dustin and I decided that we wanted to have a Halloween party a few weeks ago and we never looked back. My vision is upscale with creepy but not gross. I also wanted to have our whole island be a beautiful charcuterie board for our guests to graze on while they were here.

With the charcuterie board being essentially the centerpiece of the party, I mapped out the things that I already had. Instead of using a tablecloth, I will be using butcher paper as the “tablecloth” and then a black table runner down the middle under the centerpieces. I am using a large cylinder vase as the very middle and then two cake plates on either side of it. I want to have spider webbing and spiders wrapped around/draped around the centerpieces and then build food around it from there.

Below are the things that I ordered to decorate the table and the drink table, these things will act as the “base” of the party and the food will be the main event! I plan to cover the whole decorating process next Saturday so you can get all prepped and ready for your own Halloween Party! Stay tuned for the final product, I can’t wait to share with you guys!

4 of my Favorite Disney Etsy Shops

4 OF MY FAVORITE DISNEY ETSY SHOPS

HEIGH HO DESIGN CO.

This shop has created a shirt that I wish I could live in alllll day every day lol not kidding! I only have one shirt from them but its the perfect oversized tee that pairs with leggings, shorts and is great to wear in that Florida heat! I have the Kilimanjaro Safari tee but there are three others on my wishlist because I know that the quality is amazing and they are comfortable to wear all day at the parks! Which is your favorite?!

PLAY IT BY EARS

I have the alien ears and they are seriously the cutest! I got them before Dustin and I’s trip last Christmas and they were perfect for our day at Hollywood Studios! They are so well made and I will definitely be purchasing another pair from this shop. See below for some pairs that are on my wishlist! I am thinking the Dopey ears next!! But I also love the classic look of the Donald ears as well… Hmmm.. decisions, decisions!

| ONE | TWO | THREE |

MAIN STREET TILLY EARS

This is the shop that I get the cutest headbands from! I started buying these so I didn’t wear ears to the parks each day we were on vacation. Mainly because ears can be heavy and I end up taking them off halfway through the day. Main Street Tilly Ears have the perfect replacement, not only are they lightweight they are ADORABLE. You can also easily wear them at home, they aren’t just for the parks by any means. I’m not exaggerating about the comfort because I have 5 pairs and three more in my Etsy cart. You can click here to be taken to all of the headbands!

SWEET PENNY CREATIONS

These are the cutest straw toppers I have found so far! They have so many options, my favorite are the food items like the Mickey pretzel and the Mickey waffle! But they have tons of other options like plain Mickey ears, characters from your favorite Disney movie, holiday toppers and even toppers for the different parks. They also have other products like wall mounts for your Mickey ears at home, magic band sliders and clothing accessories! Be sure to check them out to make your Starbucks cup from Disney even cuter!

| ONE | TWO | THREE | FOUR |

If you decide to check out any of these shops for your next trip I would love for you to let me know and to show me what you got!! They all have so many cute things *insert heart eye emojis*! Which is your favorite shop from the list?!

4 Ways to Wear Blush Pink in Fall

If you guys didn’t notice I wear a looooot of blush pink. It’s sort of my favorite color… but I always had this mindset that it was a winter, spring and summer color and for fall you needed to wear colors like mustard, navy, maroon and olive. I mean don’t get me wrong I love those colors as well but blush just hold a special place in my heart. Well I decided that I was just going to do it, I am making blush a neutral color in my fall wardrobe {my whole wardrobe for that matter} and I don’t care who knows it. Lol

I have put together four looks that I plan on wearing this fall and I can’t wait for you to see them! I reused a couple of pieces in different outfits so you get different ideas!

Fall Inspired Charcuterie Board

I am back with another charcuterie board but this time I used things that remind me of fall! I used things like apples, caramel, pumpkin seeds and other fall things that I chose pretty much because they made me happy haha which I think is a perfect way to choose things to put on your charcuterie board! You will see in the video below that I changed my mind quite a bit on the layout of the board. I start one way but then change it and that is the best part, it can be whatever I want it to be!

10 Cozy Throw Blankets from Amazon

The other day I had a “This or That” image that I shared on Instagram stories and one of the options was cozy blankets or cozy sweaters and the majority actually said cozy blankets (so did I).. and it made me start looking on Amazon for alllll the cozy blankets to add to our apartments collection. Needless to say, it was hard to narrow it down to just 10, maybe a part 2 coming soon?

I will buy Amazon throws from now on! I also love reading the reviews to see if the blanket washes well, becuase hello… two pups! Which one is your favorite?! I ordered 2 of these and I will show you them when they come in the mail {YAS QUEEN for 2-day shipping}!

5 Fall Bucket List Destinations for New England

I always love writing bucket list posts because they let me get to dream and plan and get excited about the possibilities of traveling! When we moved to Boston last year we couldn’t wait to see all of the leaves changing and take in all of those fall views. But honestly we moved mid October and with moving and getting settled, those leaves got away from us and we didn’t really get to see any of them.

  1. Bar Harbor, ME - This has been on my list pretty much since we got to Boston. If you look at photos of this wonderful place, it looks like another destination that you would want to visit in each season because it has so much to offer. If/when we visit I want to stay a Balance Rock Inn. It seriously looks like the most perfect cozy and romantic spot. They are pet friendly, have a cozy fire pit and are right on the water! It’s so dreamy- add in the fall leaves and you have yourself a romantic weekend getaway!

  2. Wilmington, VT - We spent a weekend here at the beginning of the summer and it was absolutely gorgeous, we took our drone and flew it over the billions of trees and got some really cool footage. You can read more about that trip, here. But the whole time we were there Dustin and I talked about visiting again in the fall when all of the leaves would be firefly oranges and reds. For this trip I would 100% stay in the house that we stayed at in the summer. I will link the VRBO house, here!

  3. Salem, MA - Salem has been on my bucket list since I was a little kid, I’m sure its on yours as well if you’ve ever seen Hocus Pocus. I’m not a huge Halloween person, not a huge fan of scary movies or being scared for that matter. But the architecture and leaves and charm that Salem has in the fall is just too irresistible! We will be visiting this fall, its only a 25 minute drive from us! If we were further, we would stay over night in Salem. I would want to stay at The Salem Inn, its adorable and pet friendly which is a huge plus for us. The “to-do” list in Salem seems pretty long but I will have a better list once we visit and I will link that post here once its done!

  4. Stonington, CT - This town has been on my list since before we moved to New England because of the Inn at Stonington. This Inn popped up on my radar a while back and I have wanted to visit ever since. There is something so beautiful about fall near water and this town is on the ocean! There are TONS of restaurants and wineries to visit that are right by it! Not to mention the museums, art and history that fills the town. This is absolutely high a must add to your bucket list this fall!

  5. Mount Washington, NH - I would love to visit the Omni Mount Washington Resort. This is the mac daddy of weekend getaways lol, the amount of activities that this gorgeous hotel provides for its guests is unbelievable. The resort is tucked in between a billion trees that turn shades of red and orange in the fall. The resort has so many restaurant options, shopping and spa options to enjoy your weekend away. It’s the perfect weekend getaway to relax and enjoy the changing of season!

Gluten Free Chicken Fried Rice

Did you know that today is National Fried Rice Day? I have been meaning to share my recipe with you guys and now I have the perfect reason to! We eat this literally like 3-4 times a month, not exaggerating. It’s so easy and it saves well so if I know that we have busier week then we can plan to have leftovers the following night!

There is a magical happy sauce that MAKES the dish. Lol It’s “Terry Ho’s Yum Yum Sauce the Original”. It’s not new but it’s amazing. I get mine at Target but I will link it here so you know what you are looking for! Like please buy it at Target because its only like $4 there! Also, side note, its not “healthy” by any means but SO SO GOOD. I think you could make it a bit of a healthier dish if you made it with cauliflower rice, but I haven’t tried that.

public.jpeg

Directions

  1. Cook 1 cup of rice (I use the microwave to cook the rice because its easier/faster)

  2. If you choose to use protein, dice the protein small and season with garlic salt, pepper and salt

  3. Heat butter in the skillet and add frozen veggies

  4. Add cooked rice to the veggies

  5. Add cooked protein and coconut aminos to the skillet

  6. Cook all together until the rice gets some crispy bits

  7. Split into portions and add yum yum sauce as you like

Gluten Free at Hollywood Studios

The last stop for my small series of gluten-free options at Disney World Parks is Gluten Free at Hollywood Studios! Now when I started writing this I was realizing that there are a lot of restaurants closed at Hollywood Studios right now. They are undergoing lots of changes and I think restaurants will be changing soon. With that being said, this isn’t a list of all of the restaurants, only the ones I was able to snag a menu from while I visited. I also heard word the other day that there is another restaurant coming to Toy Story Land so I will keep my eyes open for any info on that and if any options are added for us gluten-free folk to enjoy!
