Traveling with Different Airlines During Covid

www.tarynintotravel.com | Traveling | Traveling During Covid | Airline comparison | Weekender bags | weekend luggage

First things first I never in my life thought I would be writing a post about this but here we are. 2020 man, its so weird! Anyways, both Dustin and I have had to fly during quarantine and we both had completely different experiences with two different airlines so I just wanted to share those with you.

Back at the beginning of May Dustin had to fly to Florida and then at the beginning of June needed to fly to Iowa and both times he took Southwest. He said that it was great! There was nobody sitting in the middle seats unless there was a family. And he felt far enough away from the people around him and that the plane felt really clean. There wasn’t any snack or beverage service on his flight but that was to be expected! One other thing that Dustin really liked about Southwest was that they boarded 10 people at a time. It helped to spread people out and have a bit more distance between people.

On the other hand, when I needed to go to Iowa over this past weekend I flew American Airlines and every single seat was full on both of my flights. We were literally packed in like sardines. I don’t know if I was so aware Of how close people were from being in quarantine so long or if that is how it always is but I wasn’t a fan. Other than that my flight felt clean and like it had just been cleaned. There wasn’t any snack or beverage service on my flight either just like Southwest. Which I appreciate because otherwise nobody would have had a mask on. They would have been eating or drinking and totally defeat the purpose. With American Airlines they did only let a few rows off at a time which was nice!

Basically if I were to fly again in the next few months I would fly southwest! I feel more comfortable with having the middle seat open in between me and someone else. It also blew my mind how different things were in different states. In Boston, every single person had a mask on and then in Iowa nobody had one on. It’s just interesting to see how things are in different places.

Adult Popsicles Six Ways

I know I have mentioned this to you guys before but I eat no less than 10 of those Ice Freeze popsicles a day in the summer! I felt a lot better when I did a poll and most of you eat them in the summer as well. I mean probably not 10 but you do eat them a lot lol. Over the past few weeks we have been testing different kinds of popsicles.. adult popsicles and DANG they are good! We came up with six that we really like so I decided it was time to share it with the people. They are all really simple and most are 2, maybe 3 ingredients! I’m not even really sure if you can call them recipes! It’s more like… “put these two things together”. It took about 15 minutes to make everything and I love how versatile they are! You really can make it whatever you want. You can get the popsicle bags and funnel here!

I put 2 shots in a 16 oz glass and filled the rest of the cup with the juice {and fruit if using}. Each 16 oz glass made 5 popsicles! You could definitely make them not as strong or stronger depending on what you like and how you want them to taste. But I liked them how we did it with the 2 shots per 16 oz glass.

simply blueberry lemonade & vodka & frozen blueberries

raspberry lemonade & raspberry Smirnoff & muddled raspberries

orange juice & vodka

cranberry peach juice & vodka

watermelon juice & vodka & blended watermelon

fruit punch & raspberry Smirnoff

We’ve had them made up in our freezer for a couple of weeks now and I love having one after dinner! I also took them to the beach one afternoon and they were perfect to cool us off. One other thing I did was empty the popsicle into a cup and then poor about a half shot into the cup and fill the rest with the same juice and its a good way to chill your drink without it getting all watered down! I would love to hear if you guys make any of these! If you have any questions at all I would be more than happy to answer them. Comment below or you can email me at tarynintotravel@gmail.com!

Summer Nail Colors I am Loving

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you are having a great week so far. I don’t know if its quarantine or what but I have a new found patience for painting my nails. I have mentioned this before but I usually can’t sit still long enough to do more than a coat or two and nine times out of ten I only paint one hand because I get so board and it seemed to take the whole day. But since having more time on my hands I have gotten better at painting my right hand and it doesn’t look AS MUCH like a train wreck.. lol

One of the things I pin A TON of on Pinterest is nail ideas. You can follow me on Pinterest here! There is a trend right now that is where you paint each nail a different color and I LOVE the way they look! I got colors that I thought I would like all on their own and then a couple that I could mix and match to achieve that look I was talking about! I think that the light blue, green and orange will look really good together. So I will probably start with those and do them all on the same hand. I also got a matte top coat to add to the colors just to be able to add a little change in there! It really makes it seem like there are 8 colors not 4! The matte really changes the look of the nails for sure.

I especially love “Kaf-Tan” and “Precious Cargo-Go!”. I am noticing that I didn’t really go for bright neon colors this year but I really like the ones I did grab. I put together a collage that lets you know which color is which, just to make shopping easier. I will be sharing in Instagram stories as I change the colors separately but I really am loving them all different colors like this!

Father's Day Gift Guide

Happy Tuesday guys! I don’t even know where the time has gone. It feels like Mother’s Day was .2 seconds ago! I wanted to throw together something simple to give you guys some ideas for Father’s Day gifts! A lot of these things Dustin has or we have given to my dad or my father in law!

I mentioned this in stories a couple of weeks back but this North Face sweatshirt has very quickly became Dustin’s favorite thing to wear! He got one for his birthday in April and since then has gotten three more. He loves wearing them to work! He works remote and even when he is in the office it’s very casual. The electric hand warmers are something that I got my dad for Christmas last year and he uses them when he is hunting. One thing that is new to me that I hadn’t seen before was the portable charcoal grill! Its so freakin cute {I mean as far as grills go lol} but its perfect for on the go!

The last thing that I wanted to mention was the gluten free spices that I found. I always have a hard time finding spice blends that are gluten free. Its one of the things that gluten is hidden in a lot so when I find something like this I want to share! They had 6 other types of mixes. Some were seasoned salts, grill mixes, hot & spicy mixes and some other ones!

The Next Chapter: We Bought a House!

www.tarynintotravel.com | We Bought A House | New House | First Time Home Owners | Moving Across the Country | Here we go Again | New Home | Florida | Moving to Florida | Orlando, Florida |

We bought a house! If you follow me on Instagram or get my emails you already know this. I thought it would be fun to talk about the last few months to let you guys know what has been going on behind the scenes. But let me give you a little back story! About a year and a half ago in October we decided that we wanted to move to Florida. We love Disney and visit as often as we can and every time we are there we just feel happy. In Orlando in general, not just Disney! We are so excited for warm weather year round, space and being in our happy place! For those of you who don’t know, we got married in Disney Springs in Florida.

We went back and forth for a year on if we would move down there and rent or if we would move down and buy a house. We were finally set on buying a house but then the coronavirus started. We weren't able to travel and flying there wasn’t an option anymore. We had plans to travel down in July {2020} to see houses. Our Boston lease wasn’t up until October so we hadn’t planned on leaving until then. But SO much changed. With everything happening and being stuck in the apartment one of our main things was that if this {quarantine} happened again in the fall or in the future that we wanted to be in a house.

Lucky Dustin had a coworker who had just moved within Florida and we were able to get set up with his realtor! He truly made this process a breeze for us. He has worked so hard to help us find the right place for Dustin and I and went above and beyond our expectations with helping us from afar. Doing this all remotely was what made us the most nervous but he made our lives easy! I talk to my mom a lot, like twice a day at least and I feel like there was about a month period of time where we talked to him more lol. If you need a realtor in the Orlando area let me know and I will give you his information!

The hard part was when we started finding the houses that we liked. There was a period of time where we would find a house {like 3 IN A ROW} and before our realtor could go see it {i’m talking like the next day} the house would already be under contract. It was really frustrating and we felt helpless being so far away. Not that I think we could have done anything but we just had that feeling. Then the very next day from when our top 3 choices went off the market we found it. This house. The one we are buying. In this instance it 10000% felt like everything happened for a reason and everything just sort of made sense. We found the house and the next day our realtor went to show it to us on video and we put in an offer that night.

Our house had been “sold” or under contract two times before we bought it! Perfect timing! After we put the offer in on the house things started moving pretty quickly. We put in offer in on May 17th and she accepted it. Three days later Dustin was on a plane down to Florida for inspection. This was the one part that we really needed to be there for. We both wanted to go so badly but it wasn’t necessary and we didn’t want both of us to be out and about flying when we didn’t both need to do that. Everything went well with the inspection and Dustin came home two days later. After that its been a waiting game of us waiting to move. We have 28 days and we can’t wait!

I can’t wait to take you through the house and start with completing rooms! Our plan is to do room by room so it will be easy for me to share with you guys. I would love to answer any questions that you have! I have talked to so many of you on instagram that live there or wanted to know more and I love sharing with you guys! Let me know if you have any questions either in the comments or you can email me at tarynintotravel@gmail.com.

Recent Amazon Finds

I figured that it had been a little while since I shared my recent Amazon finds and I think going forward I will do this like once a month because ..well.. I buy a lot of things from Amazon haha. I will break everything down below!

  1. Mikes Hot Honey - This is something that I was totally influenced to buy and I am so glad that I did! I feel like I saw 100 people share this hot honey and I think it is amazing! We have used it once and we put it on our chicken and waffles that morning and DANG they were good! It has a serious kick! You can also put it on things like pizza, fried chicken, ice cream, desserts. It lists a ton of things to add it to!

  2. Black Rimmed Sunglasses - I love these, they will be perfect for the beach! I wrote a whole post on all of my favorite sunglasses that you can read here!

  3. Brown and Gold Sunglasses - Another inexpensive pair that I wear to the beach that I can take in the water and not be so sad if they get lost!

  4. NorthFace Sweatshirt - This is nothing new but this sweatshirt is Dustins new favorite thing to wear! He has four and wears them basically in rotation lol they are very comfortable! You guy have probably even seen me wearing them in my stories!

  5. Popcorn Butter and Salt - I saw this on DeDe’s stories from Dress Up Buttercup and pretty much instantly bought it! I loved really buttery and salty popcorn so this was perfect for me! If you’ve been around for a long time then you know that we love our popcorn! I buy it in bulk and often lol its the best snack!

  6. Eye Brow Pencil - I have been testing a couple of new eye brow pencils over the last month or so and this one is my favorite so far. I love the shape of the spooly and the pencil! The spooly helps me to shape my eyebrows and I also really like the shape of the pencil. Plus its less than $6 and gets delivered to my door! I have the shade blonde!

  7. Bio Oil - This is supposed to help with stretch-marks. I have them all over but more recently in my life I have them on my legs and I am trying to reduce the dark color. I have seen this a lot on instagram and I decided to give it a try. Along with like 4 other creams and oils. SO I will keep you guys posted on if I like it or not!

  8. Clear Bags - So this was a small project that I decided to take on a few weeks back. I saw someone on Instagram that had taken all of her board games out of the box and put them each in one of these bags. I really liked the way that it looked so I decided that I was going to do it too! I really like how much space it saves and there aren’t a ton of bulky game boxes somewhere in our apartment!

Five Meal Delivery Services Reviewed

www.tarynintotravel.com | Five Meal Delivery Services Reviewed | Blue Apron | Home Chef | Hello Fresh | Every Plate | Freshly |

Grab your popcorn because this one is wordy. lol This was SUCH a fun review for us to do. I think it’s because Dustin was doing them with me and I was able to have confirmation on how I felt about each of them! We tried five different meal delivery services over the last six weeks and let’s just say we have some thoughts. Some were really good, some..one.. was REALLY not that great. I feel like there are only a couple that are out there that are commonly talked about but there are a TON to choose from and even then we decided to choose just five.

Gluten free info: Only one of these meal delivery services was gluten free and it was actually our least favorite but I will get into that in a minute. Some delivery services made it easy for me to modify things to make them gf, others didn’t. If they sent burgers I would just use my own bread. If they sent pasta, I would use my own noodles. It is something that is normal in my life so I just never thought anything of it!

I am going to list them from our least favorite to our favorite!

  • Freshly - This was sadly our least favorite but we REALLY wanted to like it because it is SO convenient and all of the meals we chose were gluten free! The whole gimmick with this meal delivery service is that all of the food is microwaveable. There is no cooling required. The meals weren’t horrible but they definitely were still microwaved and we could definitely tell. We even plated the meals on plates after they cooked to get the effect that they didn’t just come out of a microwave which didn’t really help. Another downside was they pretty much offered the same meals each week with maybe switching up a few. It was fine for one week but not something we could ever do for weeks at a time in a row. It was also weird because we both ate something different every night. We got Freshly delivered on Saturday. After the promotional sign up cost would have expired, we would be paying around $50 plus shipping for 3 meals.

  • Hello Fresh - This was the meal service that got this whole review started. I signed up for Hello Fresh before I realized that I was signing up for Hello Fresh. Lol I was trying to look at their meal options and thought I was just setting up my account {my mistake, I should have known when I entered my card} but I had actually been setting up my first order. So watch out for that! The second thing about this service is that they have a ton of options but the really good meals are an additional cost! Which is frustrating, I would rather pay for a higher level subscription than pay an additional $5.99 per SERVING. Besides that hidden fees, we did enjoy the meals! But it was pretty expensive. Like VERY expensive. We paid $79.91 for 4 meals for two people. Safe to say we canceled that as soon as we got the meals. We couldn’t justify the price for what we were getting.

  • Blue Apron - It was a good meal delivery service. Honestly the meals were either really simple and its something we already knew how to make or really extravagant and wasn’t something we would enjoy eating. The food was good and it was really fresh! The meals were easy to make but it’s not something I would continue to pay $60 a week for. After the promotional sign up cost would have expired, we would be paying around $59 plus shipping for 3 meals. Blue Apron will deliver based on your area but for us it was Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday. One plus with this service is that you don’t pay shipping with this one. But the other services are less a week with shipping.

  • Home Chef - So this service was really good. I had a hard time choosing if I thought Blue Apron or Home Chef was better and they really were neck and neck. With this one, I don’t really know how to put this but the meals were just kind of …blah. Like really nothing exciting or life changing. Another thing was that the week that we got meals from Home Chef, we were kind of hungry after our meal. For example one of our meals was a chicken breast and a corn/peppers mixture and we were both hungry about an hour later. I guess to sum that up, they were just lighter meals. Another con, we were going to give it another try so we ordered a second week and only one of the meals showed up which really sucked because we hadn’t gone grocery shopping for dinners. After the promotional sign up cost would have expired, we would be paying around $59.70 plus shipping for 3 meals. They don’t charge for shipping though which is a plus! This was another service though were the meals weren’t revolutionary lol like chicken breast and corn/peppers, steak tacos, nothing crazy.

  • Every Plate - This was hands down our favorite. We actually got it two times. We loved that these meals were easy for us to make gluten free for myself while Dustin could still eat the normal meal! Now I’m not saying that they are gluten free but they were just easier to make gf! If they sent burgers I would just use my own bread. If they sent pasta I used my own pasta and Dustin used what was sent and then we would actually have leftovers! It was nice though because they would use gf soy sauce. It wasn’t like they went out of there way to add gluten tp things. There was plenty of food for us with each meal and we felt great about it because there was no waste at the end of the meal! We liked that you could choose the delivery date. You get to choose to have them deliver on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.. tons of options! This was also the most bang for our buck so to speak. We pay $48.91 for 4 meals for two people. This was the best deal for us! Plus we have the option of getting 5 meals a week! If you want to try Every Plate you can get $20 off your first box here!

Have you guys tried any of these services? I would love to know your thoughts and opinions on them! If you guys have any further questions on any of the meal services shoot me an email and I can answer them for you! I am an open book and always want to help you! You can email me at tarynintotravel@gmail.com or you. can comment below!

Hairitage Hair Line Review

A couple of weeks ago one of you asked me if I had tried this line and I hadn’t! But I am so glad that I decided to try it because I am loving them! They are pretty affordable and are sold at Walmart! All the Products are under $8 which I love. Below I shared my thoughts and review on all 6 of the products that I tried!

www.tarynintotravel.com | Hairitage by Mindy Hairline | Shampoo and Conditioner Review | Dry Shampoo | An apple a day acv hair rinse | Walmart Finds

ACV Hair Rinse

I really had zero expectations when I purchased this because I wasn’t even sure what it was! BUT I absolutely love what this does for my hair! I use it when I am in the shower before I shampoo my hair. So I will get my hair just a little damp and then run it through my hair about 5 times across the top and let it sit while I shave my legs or wash my face! I leave it in for about 3-5 minutes and I love it! it really cleans my hair without making it feel limp/dead. I love that I have added this to my shower routine!

Dry Shampoo

I added this into my whole Dry Shampoo Review blog post a week ago and it actually made my top 5 list! You can read more about that here. But I will give you the facts real quick.  I like how the dry shampoo lasts in my hair and the volume that it gives to my hair. The one downside of this dry shampoo is the initial smell-it is so strong and fills the room. But once the air circulates, it does smell good! I would buy this again for the volume alone!

Hair Mask

I am still testing this one and still want to try it a couple of times but I don’t leave it in my hair overnight like it suggests. I will use it in the shower about once a week. I leave it on my hair for about 10 minutes. I like the results. My hair feels really soft after I blow dry my hair!

Held High Conditioner

This is the conditioner that I have been using more regularly. I really like the way it feels! And I do think that it gives my hair more volume. Or at least sets my hair up to have a lot of volume!

Gentle Daily Shampoo

This was probably my least favorite product out of all of them. Not to say I don’t like it but I really only like using it every other wash. It is a good shampoo but there are others out there that I like more. I find that if I use it every single wash then my hair starts to feel a bit weighed down.

S.O.S. Deep Moisture + Restore Conditioner

I have used this a couple of times but honestly Dustin has used it more! He has short curly hair and likes that it makes his hair softer. I would say that it makes his hair healthier and softer. But like the shampoo he doesn’t use it every wash {he showers every single day at least once if not twice}, he likes to mix it up.

Amazon Bodysuit Styled Three Ways

www.tarynintotravel.com | Amazon Bodysuit Styled Three Ways | Amazon Fashion | Bodysuit | One Top Three Ways | Abercrombie | Amazon Sunglasses |

This post is definitely a little bit out of my comfort zone but I figured what the heck, I might as well just post it! Up until I found this bodysuit I pretty much had written them off. I thought they would never fit my body type and wouldn’t look good. Most of them out there are too short for my torso {trust me, I tried them!} which really sucked and was discouraging. I don’t even feel like I have that long of a torso! But I found this one and it was long enough for me, wasn’t see-through and didn’t show every wrinkle/roll on my body which was great for me! It made me feel confident to wear it!

I decided to share three ways that I wear this bodysuit with you guys! These are simple outfits that flatter my curves and make me feel good about my outfit which is all I ask for! All three of these outfits can be worn for date night, day dates, out to lunch with the girls, pretty much covers alllll occasions! I took a poll the other night when I was sharing my frustrations of all tops out there right now looking the same and the majority of you guys said the same thing! So the nice thing about this body suit is that you can wear it many different ways!

I loved putting together these outfits because I felt comfortable in them! I think I said it a few times in my try on that I felt like I could wear them all day and not get uncomfortable and be confident in these looks all day long. Which was your favorite? I LOVE the second outfit but also the first one is just so cute!!

Plants I Ordered for our Apartment

I feel like I need to write the next sentence in all caps … I am no expert and I literally struggle to keep anything alive lol. But I keep telling myself that this time is going to be different! I WILL keep these ones alive! I did a little but of research to see which plants were easier to keep alive and then after I chose a few I figured out how often I needed to water them and what the upkeep was before I even purchased them.

All of the plants I ordered came from different shops on Etsy! I wanted to support small shops and I felt like they would be healthier. Kind of like when you used to buy goldfish from Walmart and they would die pretty quickly after. That was what was in my head when I bought them lol. Anyways, I chose three plants, four succulents and four air plants! All of them have lived at our house for well over a month and its going well so far! Update: Over the last week since I originally wrote this, one of the plants had a couple of the leaves turn brown… it turns out that I needed to water this one pretty much daily! So I messed that up. You can see in the photos. I am talking about the Ficus Esastica ‘tineke’.

But the other ones are all still alive and I water them all once a week on Thursday morning {I set a reoccurring alarm} and it has worked great! I am hoping once I do it enough I won’t have to keep the alarm it will just be like muscle memory. *shrugs shoulders*

Below are the plants that I bought, I will list them out here!

  1. Sanseveria Hunny Bunny Snake Plant

  2. Sedum Donkey Tail {succulent}

  3. Cassula String of Buttons {succulent}

  4. Echeveria “Lola” {succulent}

  5. Haworthia Limifolia var. Striata {succulent}

  6. Sanseveria Trifasciata Snake Plant - also called the Mother in Law’s Tongue

  7. Ficus Esastica ‘Tineke’

  8. Four Air Plants which are many different sizes, you can shop those here!

MY WISHLIST FOR SEPTEMBER-3.jpg

I feel like this will definitely be a post/topic that I keep you guys updated on! I feel REAL invested in these plants lol. Do you guys have house plants?? Which ones?!
